SAN FRANCISCO -- Voters approved ballot measures to ban handguns in San Francisco and urge the city's public high schools and college campuses to keep out military recruiters.

The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city, and makes it illegal for residents to keep handguns in their homes or businesses.

Only two other major U.S. cities _ Washington and Chicago _ have implemented such sweeping handgun bans.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has decided, that the Second Amendment is a "collective right,"...

A "collective right" is an oxymoron and is just about as constitutional as another famous oxymoron, "separate but equal". Both of them are bogus legal concepts.

The 2nd. Amendment is a poor step child to the Left, if not a complete b*st*rd. They would repeal it in a NY minute, if it wasn't part of the sacred "Bill of Rights". They know that once any right is removed from these first ten that the rest will soon fall. That's why the Left tries its best at malignant neglect and abuse to the rights that it doesn't like.

As far as I am concerned, the state of California has no "right" to a militia.

Be that as it may, that's how the Ninth has ruled and the US Supreme Court didn't see fit to reverse them as usual.

The RKBA amendment initiative is one of the last chances California has left to reclaim the right to armed self-defense which has been steadily stripped away by politicians, judges, and bureaucrats.

I agree, but it's not our last chance. Since the National Guard traditionally recruits from the "shooting class", I say we boycott the CALARNG. Those now in, should get out when they can. Those considering the Guard, should join in another state. If California wants to guarantee the rights expressed in the 2nd. Amendment with the NG, then let the CA assembly fall out for riot duty.

I heard some newswag say on TV last night that San Franciscans say that they are not really a part of America.

Unless someone else says they are not a part of America, he added....

I'm certain that if the homosexuals put an initiative on the ballot to outlaw and confiscate Bibles, because they are homophobic hate speech, that the measure would definitely pass.

I used to live in SF, and I damn well guarantee you, were I still living there, THEY WOULD NEVER GET MY HANDGUNS!

THAT is why it is so important to have unregistered handguns, so that when the police come to seize your weapons, they don't find you on any of their lists.

I hope this abomination is overturned by the courts...

You got that right. We have ten acres near Mt. Hebron in Northern California, near Mt. Shasta, and that area is so filled with rednecks, ranchers and Republicans you'd think you were in North Idaho.
