A Riverside County kindergarten teacher was pulled out of class and arrested Tuesday on suspicion of being under the influence of methamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Lynne Filippini, 47, was teaching at French Valley Elementary School in the southwest Riverside County town of Winchester when "other teachers noticed she was acting strange," said Earl Quinata, a Riverside County Sheriff's spokesman.
Filippini, of Temecula, was evaluated by a school resource officer, who then called the sheriff's office. When authorities searched her belongings, they found items "that are consistent with the use of illicit drugs," sheriff's Sgt. Rick Zerkel wrote in a news release.
Quinata identified one of the items as a straw used to ingest methamphetamine.
A spokeswoman for Temecula Valley Unified School District declined to comment about Filippini's arrest.

I don't know whether to laugh or puke. Is this too funny to be disgusting, or too disgusting to be funny?

Sounds like a good candidate for tenure!

The idea of someone teaching French on meth is the strangest mental (not to mention auditory)image I've had in some time.

I would think on meth she could come in 3135th, 3540th, and 3601st.

"Kids, what is that noise? I think it's the cops! Is it the cops? Oh, Jessica, it's just the gardener outside? Oh. You sure? Sounds like a cop. D'Andre has a gun! Oh my G-d, kids, D'Andre has a GUN!! What? Just a crayon? You scared me, you little sh*t! Kids, let's all see how much chalk dust we can pick up with our fingers, OK? OMG, IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD! What, Jose? It's just the school bell? No freaking way! WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE COMING IN? You have no right to be in here! I am calling the police! Oh, you're the parents? NO, there is NOTHING WRONG. I feel FINE! Where's my purse, I need to go to the Little Girl's Room!"

"Quinata identified one of the items as a straw used to ingest methamphetamine."
I'm constantly amazed at how uneducated I am regarding what is the latest with drug usage. When I was younger, a "roach clip" (not that I ever used one) was considered high-tech. Some even had a big, dyed feather attached to them.

Ah, Temecula; ground zero for "the ratlands" as I used to call the area. Even 15 years ago it was absolutely awash in crystal meth. Who couldn't love a small, rural town complete with its own street walkers (highway walkers, no streets), its own at-large mass murderer, and enough crime and violence to make NYC blush.
