I just saw an awesome ad on FOXNEWS.
The Kurds say THANK YOU!
[Paraphrased] Reminds us Saddam's goal was to eliminate all Kurds. Now Saddam is gone. Kurds are safe. They might have mentioned the gassing-I started paying full attention only when I knew what the ad was.
And separate shots of men, women, kids who look at camera and say "Thank You!"
fanfan, thanks for the ping! This is exactly the kind of thing liberals hate to hear - they must going into convulsions when they hear that the Kurdish people show gratitude to Bush and to America!!
You are both welcome.
I loved it too.
ping
I hope they know they have the blessings of many, many Americans.
Yes! I've just seen it! Just before the Amman story broke. What a wonderful idea! It was heartwarming to see. Lefties must be groaning.
Thanks for the ping fanfan. My screen got blurry towards the end.
Thanks, again.
The ads were great, very moving...but I'm wondering if perhaps the Kurds are planting seeds in the American politcal consciousnesss in the event that iraq comes apart...and they seek support for their own nation?
bttt
Both Fox News and the Weekly Standard are owned by Rupert Murdoch. The first time I saw those Kuwaiti ads I became suspicious that certain business interests in the Middle East were basically using these U.S. media outlets as par of an orchestrated propaganda campaign. After seeing this thread I'm now convinced of it.
Iraqi's Thank America (Wow, this is moving!)
:o)
You're welcome to believe whatever you wish. You can't change the facts or history, but you can debate what the future might be.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Very people here know what "the facts" are, since nearly everything discussed here is based on information that is provided to us by someone else and is often tainted by bias, manipulation, etc.
Sounds like a fantastic ad!
And thank you for the ping, fanfan. :)
They've wanted help from the United States and the United Kingdom.
The U.S. and UK have felt deeply sympathetic towards the plight of the Kurds.\
The Kurds were grateful the Coalition took out Saddam and have treated Coalition Forces very warmly.
I think those essential points are pretty indisputable.
Now... what happens from here, and what anyone's 'agenda' might be, well that's open to debate.
I already read O'Dwyers PR say the purpose of these ads were to reclaim the oilfields of Kirkuk for the Kurds. I am not sure how these ads do that or where they get that from.
But that's what people will do - they'll come up with their own theories about people's underlying motivations. You've come up with your own. You might even be right.
For now, though, my emphasis is on those points above. The Kurds have wanted to be like "us" - that's a difference in attitude from the Kuwaitis who while certainly glad at the time that we got Saddam out, didn't seem to be that in love with the West and what we believed in (the underpinings of our socieites) or cherished.
I saw the ad tonight. What great timing - we need to hear this message at this time, while support for the war may be waning with some Americans.
Thanks to the Kurds for their message!
OHHH I didn't know that
I keep eye on Fox news I hope they sell to other stations
How long it before they blame this on Bush LOL!
Thanks for the ping!
