On rare occasions I have the opportunity to correct some one on a technical point. Often I am corrected. I get chastised for not reading the entire reference every day.

I think that San Francisco voters have gone insane. Gun control does not reduce crime. Mandatory sentences for gun crimes will lower crime rates.
If you have the stomach for it and can actually stand to listen to Feinstein, you get the same self righteous pomposity that Robert Mugabe exudes.

To give you an example, when general Gage marched on Lexington, 75 minute men met him initially, but as the word spread it was estimated that as many as 5000 eventually responded and fired on the British as they retreated to Boston. This response in a time when the total population of the soon to be usa was about 3,000,000 and there was no rapid communication.
Now fast forward to the year 1997. Georgia's state level gun rights group, Citizens for Safe Government, held a rally at the capital in Atlanta on a saturday morning at the end of January. We advertised on radio, newspapers (NOT the Atlanta Urinal/Constipation), and phone banked to call approximately 3000 people in the Atlanta area asking them, not to risk their lives, but to give up about three hours of their Saturday morning to send a message to the legislature to keep their dirty thieving hands off our rights. 125 showed up. The Atlanta metro area alone has a higher population than the entire USA of 1775
The spirit of '76 is gone from the USA today, replace by the spirit of "gimme I wants" that we saw in New Orleans.
The San Francisco morons deserve every robbery, murder, beating, and rape that this law engenders. Of course all of this will be swept under the rug by the government and their joined at the anus buddies in the media.
