We need to get off our a**es and start fighting back!!
We ARE going to lose big.
A good Freeper never loses a great bookmark, eh?
Indeed, performance in the midterm elections is a poor indicator of performance in the presidential elections as well. (I was surprised myself before I looked at the data).
Today's elections weren't even midterm.
Is that your idiotic prediction or what you hope happens?
You have been going around from thread to thread spreading this stupid doom and gloom of yours. Chill out. Some freepers were craping in their pants in 2002 and 2004 and predicted our utter defeat. They were absolutely wrong.
People who do that kind of thing are highly suspect, j.........
I suspect that these are projections of hope rather than doom.......
And the skids for their succeeding at the ballot were greased by Boob Taft and company. They all look to be going down to defeat soundly.
Agree OhioWfan.

Actually, I have no problem with the prophets of doom and gloom. After all, fear can be a strong motivator. Think about it, what was the #1 factor in getting a HIGH turnout for President Bush's re-election? Fear of the thought of a Kerry administration, of course. And let's face it, the mere thought of a Hitlery administration can make the bravest man back down in utter terror. So, let's let these merchants of doom talk about how terrible it will be for the GOP in 2006 and 2008...while they talk, we go to work to make sure their predictions don't come true!
The President needs to go on the offensive. This is the best year of the Bush presidency, the economy is just on fire. 3.8% GDP growth, minimum inflation, and full employment, yet the media is screwing us up. If the media was conservative Bush would have 65% JA because of the economy and the successes of Iraq. Bush needs to go on the offensive. He can fight back. This white house has always had a communication problem the only time I didn't was last election and thats why Bush won.
He also may need to make some personal changes. As bad as it may seem to us, firing Cheney maybe a good idea. Getting rid of Cheney and naming someone like George Allen as VP would be great. Not only will we remove someone synonymous with hatred and controversy, we will also be putting a true conservative in line for 2008.
Actually Dubya won election in 2000, added seats in 2002, and won re-election in 2004 by not going on offensive against the rats. Why change a winning stratagy just because the rats and mainstream media say so? Why are you quick to believe media polls and not successful elections, wars, legislation, and judical appointments?

What a terrible idea? I thought conservatives didn't care about popular opinion, but rather doing whats right. Removing Cheney would be rewarding the rats for throwing their stupid phoney tantrum. Screw the rats and media.

Really.
You have a good memory. Thanx for refreshing mine.
That is crazy. Here in VA both other major offices went to the GOP easily. Kilgore could've won but he failed to invigorate about 10% of the voters who voted for both the other GOP candidates. He didn't have a key issue and didn't attack nearly hard enough, Bill Bolling won and he really stuck the liberal label to his opponent like "stuck on stupid". Kaine was running as a stealth liberal with the support of a very popular Governor who should've been taken to task for the largest tax increase in Virginia history but for some reason the GOP wasn't willing to fight that battle (primary because many of their own caved on the issue). I didn't expect Forrester to win and it looks like he actually did worse than expected but I think that was his last minute flipflop with the pro-choice folks. Tonight was a mixed bag, the Democrats won one race they had a clear edge on and another with a guy running as a moderate-to-conservative Democrat. Not a lot to be excited about unless the GOP rolls over and plays dead for the next year which isn't going to happen. Don't forget several delicious events have yet to come. Saddam's execution is one of them, Alitos confirmation, another round of successful Iraqi elections, and then Libby's acquittal. There is a lot to look forward to if conservatives hold the ground and fight.
Firing Cheney, the best VP in our lifetimes?
What a dumb idea. Sounds like something the Democrats would *love* to see.
