With their third party voting they gave us Carter and Clinton. With the disenchantment caused by Miers, illegals amnesty, etc. I have a bad feeling about 2006/2008... folks will stay home. Dems could gain.
The Republicans appear to be the "natural majority" except when they wander off the reservation and start being politicians instead of elected leaders.

California election results...
In a democracy the people get what the majority deserves.

Good night Norm.
Hopefully we'll get them next year.

This is just all common sense.
Has NOTHING to do with me.
Think about it, do you think the union and government employees felt good about being assessed for these hundreds of millions?
Do you think the unions and government employees can keep up the spending at that level and survive their own membership spending THEIR OWN MONEY? They just don't do that well.
They CAN NOT sustain that expense and will collapse guaranteed.
All we have to do is place these things against their interests on the ballots which is rather cheap.
Then watch them waste all their monies on defense.
This is terrific stuff and the people will get sick of their BS ads.
I'm telling you that you can take this to the bank, in the 2006 and 2008 election cycle, we pepper these initiatives on the ballot and you will see some results and the weakening of the Democrat Party and unions in California.
This is truly a great day, we have now a way for the Democrats and Unions to bankrupt their own influence and bank accounts.
Let's take advantage of this and bury them along with all the other relics of socialism and communism.
For the CHILDREN... LOL

Tonight, I have utter contempt for my fellow Californians.
They have the government they deserve, but I don't consider them my fellow citizens anymore. I refuse to be ruled by them.

You are so right, but this time, the all or nothing Conservatives will help elect another Clinton. (question: does Hillary smoke cigars)

Bush 41's political footsy created Perot. The great wimp out on 'no new taxes'. Remember it all too well and I still can't believe it even to this day.

I refuse to be ruled by them. I don't know, guy. That's sounding like the "He's not my President" guff we were all laughing at back in 2001.
To: ajolympian2004
I agree 100% with your statement.
My position on Rinos has been you attempt their defeat in primaries. Hopefully they are removed, but you don't act like a baby and vote for a third party, because all you do in the real elections is get idiot Democrats in power that way.
Voting independent is enabling Democrat take overs of power in government. It is worse than throwing your vote away, it is actual passive support for a Democrat.

First thing you do is get rid of the California license plate and don't admit you are an immigrant from the C state ~LOL~

Let's be sure to remind me in the coming year. Whoops! I've revealed my real idenity! I'm secretly the Governator! ;)
No, I mean let's be sure to remind ARNOLD of his line-item-veto authority in the coming year.

"social conservatism" is against things like abortion and gay marriage - "social liberalism" is not. SC puts a high value on traditional ways, SL does not.
Most everyone has an SC streak in them because people generally seek out what is normal to them. They are really SC on the things they value. That's when you see the SC of what we call Liberals today come out - with the "free speech zones" and no smoking laws.
To: California Patriot
Cheer up. You're getting way too negative. Elections have a lot to do with the current state of the economy. Right now we've had rising energy prices and rising interest rates over the last several months. At this time next year that will all have reversed: gasoline prices will be lower and the Fed will finish raising interest rates in a few months so mortgage rates will be lower. People don't like the recent economic trends, but those trends are all set up to reverse next year.
Iran is the one big wild card, however. If they make sudden progress in their nuclear weapons program then events may heat up rapidly over there and all economic bets are off. Let's hope that happens in the Spring or after the election or not at all.

Well let's look at it this way. We've got a helluva a lot more money than they do and this softened them up for next year.

Yeah...and the way we're doing things now is truly optimal, eh wot? Fight the good fight in the primaries, doing so with respect and grace, like Ronald Reagan. Then rally around the (R) candidates in the general election. It's the only way to make progress in the long run.
Well, unless someone tries to take your microphone in the primary and you paid for it. ;) :)
