Corzine elected governor of New Jersey
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine (news, bio, voting record) was elected governor of New Jersey on Tuesday, defeating Republican Doug Forrester after an exceptionally nasty and expensive race, media outlets reported.
Corzine, a multi-millionaire and former Wall Street executive, and Forrester, a wealthy business owner, spent an estimated $72 million of their own money in campaigns marked by charges of corruption and infidelity, including the Forrester campaign's use of damning quotes by Corzine's ex-wife.

Gay?? Don't think so - he sounds like a horney heterosexual.
A Thief? He's a DemocRat - Nuff said.
New Jersey is changing its name to New Manhattan.
Is that strong enough??? I doubt it.
Insanity, doing the same thing over&over expecting different results. Good luck New Jersey sleep in the sewer you chose.
Corzine won because a lot of New Jersey is overdeveloped - and the people who have moved into the new housing are all "Rat refugees from the mess they created in the five boroughs of New York and from Philly.
Also Forrester ran a vicious campaign against Schundler and made no effort to reach out to his base. In addition the New Jersey Republican Party suffers from an acute case of self-destructive madness.

I guess I just don't fear a fight. We'll win in the end - we have the better ideas.
Go run away, but you'll find that you can't hide. The South is becoming more Northernized every day. California dominates the West. You abandon these states, and you'll find that liberalism spreads.
Where do you draw the line? Where will you stop running and fight?
welcome to the people's republic of NJ.
I think Corzine should be hit with one of those "obscene profit" taxes, he obviously has some
Forrester isn't entirely to blame.
There are too many Republican operatives and County Committee people who are non-functional.
The electorate wanted a change. But the party leadership did a poor job of coordinating their efforts as they did in the election where they let Bennett and his buddy State Chairman Kyrillos siphon off all the campaign money towards Bennetts collapsing campaign in the face of corruption allegations.
There are a lot of good people left in New Jersey - I sympathisize with them. As soon as you can, you should leave. Just don't tell your transplanted New York City refugee neighbors where you are going. They might follow you out here.
Oh yeah. These Cali's are convinced that the right brand of communism hasn't been tried yet. But communism is the way. You can already see their influence with our feminist full bull governor.
Arizona has gone absolutely wacko.
Don't be so happy.
Word is out that Corzine is appointing that little troll, Menendez, to the Senate as his replacement.
I don't fear it either, in fact here in South FL, it's a fight almost every day. My point was that sometimes the masses are so far gone they will never be turned around.
I agree, we have the better ideas, but when the MSM is feeding the sheep BS 24/7 it's hard to get those out.
That's EXACTLY why we need restrictions on development.
People in conservative states need more "endangered species". They keep developers from putting in new subdivisions which draw out liberal urban Democrats to lie or retire there.
Well, at least 43% of New Jersey Residents voted for the Repub. And that doesn't count the unwashed masses who didn't even bother to go the polls.
"..the majority of people living in this state somehow benefit from the excessive taxation of the "wealthy" folks who clearly make up a minority."
Corzine said he would lower taxes for middle incomers.
Nobody asked Daddy Warbucks what constitutes "middle income" though. My guess is anybody earning less than $20,000. (And the average income in New Jersey is far higher than that, as is the cost of living, thanks to paying for all the leftist beaurocracies in that state.
