Corzine elected governor of New Jersey

Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine (news, bio, voting record) was elected governor of New Jersey on Tuesday, defeating Republican Doug Forrester after an exceptionally nasty and expensive race, media outlets reported.

Corzine, a multi-millionaire and former Wall Street executive, and Forrester, a wealthy business owner, spent an estimated $72 million of their own money in campaigns marked by charges of corruption and infidelity, including the Forrester campaign's use of damning quotes by Corzine's ex-wife.

Dick Morris calling someone morally bankrupt...who'd a thunk it.

'Dick' is one guy I'm not proud to have on my side.

The Pubbies are welcome here in Fla. The problem is that the Dems will also flee, and they have not yet devised a test to tell the difference when they cross the border.

Although living in PA which has a comparable dirtbag Governor in Fast Eddie Rendell, at least it is not a 1 Party State like they have with the NJ politburo. NJ is the only place that I know of where people move to PA just to get out of their state.

I hope Corzine spends a bunch more money making the nomination more difficult for Hillary. I think she'll get the nomination anyway and the VP slot will go to the biggest bidder, Corzine or Warner.

Shocking! It is the end of the Republican party as we know it. How can liberal man like Corzine win the governor race in such a conservative state like New Jersey.

Extreme sarcasm.

no, many smart people voted for Corzine full well knowing how corrupt he and the dems are.
why?

Many people benefit from corruption. i.e. trial lawyers, soprano types, Charles Kushner, corrupt preachers , welfare parasites and their social workers and unions.

I understand, I'm in AZ and we've got tons from CA moving here. I want to put up a sign at the border that says "Democrats - go back home and reap what you have sown!"

That's all we need is more of them moving here, voting the same and expecting a different outcome.

Hallelujah.

Politically, New Jersey is a hopelessly clogged toilet and Corzine is just the latest load. Believe me, New Jersey deserves Corzine. New Jersey and Jon Corzine.... perfect together.

Other than that, it is a blessing that Forrester lost, and lost big. He proudly ran as a "moderate" - - even said so in his radio ads - - and the GOP needs a "moderate" to win an election like a hole in the head. Let this landslide loss by Forrester send a strong message to other linguini-spined Republicans who think they can win by urinating on the conservative base....

Hopefully, this loss will get Forrester off the stage for good.

New Jersey residents will get what they voted for, a Liberal, Corrupt, Faithless, POS for Governor. The line "they're animals, so let them loose their souls" comes to mind at a moment like this.

As a resident of NJ for 34 years, I truly believe that the majority of people living in this state somehow benefit from the excessive taxation of the "wealthy" folks who clearly make up a minority.

There is no doubt in my mind that corruption is rampant in the urban areas (e.g. Newark, Camden, Paterson, etc.).

NJ is a cesspool of democrat political corruption. I'm seriously thinking about CT or NY for my next move.

Forrester ran a crappy campaign. Why couldn't he just stick to the issues instead of joining Corzine in the gutter?

The problem with Forrester is that he is an establishmentarian RINO. If you get close enough to him, you can see the whales on his pants.

You know, I think it may be time to consider a pay cut and move to a Red State. IMHO.

Let's look at the bright side;

1. No recount.
2. We won't have to endure 3 weeks of media stories about how sad it was that Corzine lost because of dirty tricks.
3. Corzine now leaves the Senate giving Republicans a chance to take that seat. (He can't buy it for someone else)
4. It will be fun to watch Corzine try to cut taxes by a constitutional convention and then explaining why it didn't work.
5. If you're 18 drinks on the Gov!!!! Whoooo!
