I vote for a Congressional inquiry.

Maybe we should get Fitzgerald to look into this. LOL

I wouldn't put it past McStain to do something like that.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue deals with classified information, said the referral was made shortly after the Nov. 2 story.

Ooops! Start another referral!

Wait a minute. If Bush and congressional Republicans join them in this fantasyland, our politics will just be a soapopera. There are things going on, even though the press is obsessed with speculation and make believe.

It was McCain.

I think you're right.

I hope this means Goss is behind the move.

I hope this doesn't mean an Independent Counsel. I strongly dislike that "one job, no boss, unlimited funds" system.

"And I hope that the CIA under Porter Goss conducts a thorough investigation of the CIA's efforts to sabotage the Bush Administration"

That's what this is really about - they wanted to hang these prisons around GWB's neck the way they did Abu Ghraib. Screw that - it isn't the existence of the prisons that matters - it's who keeps trying to set Bush up.

If the leadership determines that we should investigate the leak, it would be much like the 9/11" commission

Well, for heaven's sake, I certainly hope they make better decisions when it comes to staffing the commission. If they must have democrats on the commission, please get Zel Miller in there. Geez. I don't think I'll be able to bear it if they go all politically correct when it comes to selecting the commission members, like they did with the 9/11 commission.

The world would be a happier place without McCain. Hang McCain.

Another Set Of Able Danger Documents To Surface?
Another shoe may drop in the Able Danger story tomorrow, when Rep. Curt Weldon plans on holding a press conference to announce new developments in the case. Weldon's office released a statement today announcing the media event tomorrow at 12:30 PM ET, which can also be found on his website, I believe. Weldon's invitation promises the following:

The latest findings include: information Able Danger provided to defense officials about terrorist activity in the Port of Aden prior to the terrorist attack on the USS Cole back in October 2000; a discovery of another Able Danger member who confirms a set of Able Danger data not accounted for by the Pentagon; recent statements by the 9-11 Commission about Able Danger; and the latest efforts by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to smear Able Danger member Lt. Col. Shaffer who broke the silence about the Pentagon's efforts to track al-Qaeda worldwide prior to September 11 [emphases mine -- CE].
We already know about the smear attempt, and also the DIA's railroading of Shaffer in stripping him of his clearances for picayune offenses that go far back into his past -- which should have already been part of his security reviews several times over. I won't get a chance to listen into the press conference, but I will be following up with great interest later in the evening.

Start the investigation by taking the reporter to one of the camps for an "interview."

I guess I don't either, as long as Lott knows what he's talking about and not just vying for the affections of the Washington Press.

He wants his old job back, and will undercut Frist in a heartbeat. IMO

It's time to change the rules. Who "leaks" national secrets isn't important, IF THE MSM RELEASES "LEAKED" NATIONAL SECRETS TO THE WORLD, PUT THEIR GOATSMELLIN' @$$E$ IN PRISON WHERE THEY BELONG. That would put an end to the "leak" problem.

I think I need to read thru this book again......

A Must Read:

Unholy Alliance :
Radical Islam and the American Left (Hardcover)
by David Horowitz

**************************************

Vastly Illuminating, September 25, 2004

Reviewer: Kat Bakhu (Albuquerque, NM United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.
