That is a strong part of the problem.
As migrants to Australia we had a similar experience. Like thousands of immigrants with names like Kowalski, Popadopolous, Szymanski etc, we changed them by Deed Poll. It's amazing how many doors are opened to a Szymanski once his name is Symans.
Australians were shocked, post WW2 to be confronted with hundreds of thousands of europeans. All assimilated. All became naturalized after the waiting period of five years.
Being accepted into a culture does not happen overnight. It has to be worked at. It's human nature to be reserved about 'foreigners' regardless of religion or colour.
Only the muslims expect and demand instant gratification. The majority do not go to the west as migrants who will be part of the general population. They go to the west as the advance guard for an eventual take-over, to increase the islamic ummah/territory.
Muslims are not migrants. They are dangerous parasites on any country or culture. The 'Beur Yoots' are its foot-soldiers, trained by the imported salafist clerics preaching jihad and hatred and herded like sheep by the Muslim Brotherhood enforcers, the 'Big Brothers'.

Interesting that the phenomenon of "big brothers" style budding Mutawa is a recurring theme.
When I was in Malaysia, I ran into a few of these piglets who would strike fear into the local Bumiputra neighborhoods, and (after one of several unpleasant experiences, when our car was attacked) found out that they were all organized members of the local "islamic party" PAS, and would be taking orders from the local turban headed PAS elder, who would often double as the imam in the local mosque. PAS (Parti Islam Se Malaysia) for those who dont know, is the group of jihadi suicidebomber supporting Koranimal swine who bullied their way into power, using the few vestiges of the British inspired parliamentary democracy that Mahathir had not destroyed to undermine the very kuffar democratic process that brought them into power by introducing and enforcing sharia law over on the east coast of Malaysia.
In Pakistan, the local self-appointed Mutawa go one step further and harass and beat unveiled women in the street. Repeat offenders get acid thrown in their faces.
It's seems the Religion of Peace™ brings out the best in these folks...
Maybe John Edwards needs to go to Frogland and explain how there are "Two Frances"....
