I have to be honest...I don't like John McCain. Don't trust him one bit! I would like to know why he's always referred to as a "maverick"? Is it because he's really a Rino??

The media stole the term from the old Westerns and dubbed McCain a "Maverick" to appeal to his ego. The term is belittled by McCain receiving it, imo, though can't fight his receival of it at this point.

Why? Well, McCain constantly drives a knife in the back of Republicans. He undermines conservatism. Rather than presenting this as a betrayal (which it is), they (the MSM) stroke his ego to encourage him to continue. They've got McCain believing he's essential to the survival of this Great Nation, without him the radical right-wing would lead us to the abyss.

Maverick has come to mean any Republican that strays from the Party towards the Dems/Libs favored positions, receiving favorable MSM coverage as payback. McCain is the King, in this respect, and I hold the Republicans alowance of him to reach this "height" unchallenged responsible for little mini McCain's wanting to get in on the action such as Lindsey, DeWine, Hagel, Murkowski, etcc...

Exactly, "maverick" acting against conservative causes.
ACU rating 2004 - 72
