OK,
Southern Belle coming out here,
But around here it's considered tacky to give an expectant mother a baby shower for her 5th pregnancy.
Sorta like, by #5, you should have all the baby stuff you need by now :)
No, she pawned it to buy booze and crack....
It's more a celebration of an increase in the family by then - pretty much all I've seen given is stuff like diapers, baby shampoo, etc. Of course by #5 you may have worn the stroller out & need a new one.
You're missing the point....it's an excuser to PARTY!!!!
I have five babies. I was thrown a baby shower for my fifth baby. He was a complete surprise. When we moved, not knowing I was pregnant we threw out all our baby things (don't they say that's the way to ensure pregnancy?). I asked around my church if anyone had anything I could borrow. Instead I wound up with a baby shower and a lot of new friends.
same here, you only get a shower for your first.
I don't think this lady reads emily post though.
The previous baby is only 5 months old, so she probably needs duplicates, like if she had twins.
My sister had her 2nd baby a year ago, but a baby shower was truly necessary. She had long since given away everything she had received from the first, since there was a 15 year age difference between them.
