Ex-president Bill Clinton is arguing that tighter immigration laws are hurting America, saying the new restrictions aren't worth it even if they stop the "one out of a zillion [foreigners] who might have a bomb."
"I'm very worried that one of the consequences of our tightness on immigration and visas as a result of 9/11 and terror, has led to a drop in many places of the number of foreign students coming to the United States to study and be graduate students," Clinton told an audience at the University of Minnesota on Saturday.
He said the U.S. needed foreign students because "we are nowhere near graduating enough scientists and engineers to maintain, given the size of our economy, a leadership role in the global economy."
Clinton said the terror trade-off wasn't worth it.
"When we got real tough on visas - because one out of a zillion of them might have a bomb - we lost a lot of brains. We might have dodged a bomb but we lost a lot of brains."
On another subject, the former president also praised actress Geena Davis, star of the new ABC Show "Commander in Chief."
"I did see one episode of 'Commander in Chief'," Clinton told the crowd. "Geena Davis is good for two reasons. She looked tough but not macho. She didn't look lion-tough. And she spoke Spanish. So I thought those two things were good."
Look for the testicle lock box to be deployed again soon.
My comments are based on my own experience of who I typically see on threads. That counts for something, even if you don't realize it.
When we got real loose on visas, we lost the incentive to educate our own brains.

Did Slick Willie mean crackdown on immigration or that unfortunately the sales of crack were down?.............hee hee
Since the supposed libertarian subfaction here (and I do mean supposed, for I so not believe they are real libertarians) attack those of you who were here prior to the Xlinton impeachment, I can only conclude that they are themselves some of Hitlery's operatives. Think about it. How would the evil one's operatives come in here? How would they behave? Who would they target?
Thanks for again making my point about you picking and choosing your facts. Congress reversed the welfare reform in 1997 and 2002. I await your next sophestry.
Reality also exists outside your awareness. My job is done. I have offered facts in an effort to inform you. I can't force you to admit your error.
LOL, you two. LMAO
"Now screw off, you incomprehensible waste of food and oxygen."
Nuns used to call you "a waste of good oxygen" right after beating you blind.
..........This was a good thing. Bill could a used a few dozen years in parochial grade school.
"Just when I convince myself that Carter is our worst president, Bill opens his mouth.
"
YOu read my mind,Capt K. Being worse than Carter is going a distance.
".....loosing a few minds"
lost a few on 9/11 didn't we.,
These demonrat AH's are not fit to shine the shoes of our good and brave soldiers.
This is worth keeping handy when Hildebeast runs for President. It's absolutely priceless in a time when Americans are extremely concerned about our open borders. Is he suggesting the potential death of Americans (unknown quantity) by a bomb is not worth stopping the continued traffic of illegals?
The OBL "Fearless Leader" once again surfaces!
We shouldn't jump him unless we are ready to jump President Bush who has the exact same position on open borders and is using his power as our President to carry on and expand Bill Clinton's former immigration policy
So I ask those of you who jump on those of us that criticize Bush's open border policy, how is it right when President Bush does it and wrong when Bill Clinton does it?
You might want to ask the same question on a number of different issues that they seem to handle the same way.
Like spending like drunken sailors and increasing the size of the Federal government.
Funding and giving legitimacy the terrorist groups like the PLO and Hamas and pressuring Israel to evict their people give up their land and security so that terrorists who seek their total destruction can have a state to use for a beachhead and staging area.
There are a number of other areas where their political views seem to be in in alignment such as foreign aid, base closings and creating a smaller military while playing Global Cop for big business interests.
Amazing what Congress can do all by itself these days. Next thing you know we'll be hearing that "Congress" enacted CFR and "Congress" set up a massive prescription drug benefit.
Gotta run. There's some great pictures of the Congress-in-chief's new necktie over at the "Day in the life" photo thread. See you there!
"Just when I convince myself that Carter is our worst president, Bill opens his mouth."
Carter was the worst fiscal leftist we ever endured. But Clinton was the most immoral piece of slime to ever be elected.
Wow! Yikes! One of the most darwin-award-winning statements by a former US president!
