Soldier In Iraq Views Twins' Birth Via Internet
POSTED: 1:33 pm EST November 5, 2005
PINEHURST, N.C. -- April Dyer has given birth to twins, and a special Internet hookup allowed her husband to be there even though he's in Iraq.
U.S. Army Cpl. Jesse Dyer watched from his post 6,500 miles away as his wife gave birth in a North Carolina hospital.
The births of Nathaniel and Ashlee Dyer represent a milestone for First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. It's the first time the hospital has streamed video of a delivery over the Internet.
Dyer had the Army's permission to watch. But the setup didn't exist until April Dyer entered the hospital Thursday and asked if it could be done. A hospital worker went out and bought a couple of digital cameras, which were hooked up to a laptop.
The babies are the couple's first children after three years of marriage.

It's nice to see that some are willing to do something special for our soldiers. Bet he's a proud dad. :>

Congratulations Dad! And thanks to the hospital in North Carolina for their work to make it happen so he could be part of it.

What a great story.
This is why we gotta continue to
yell at Kofi's crowd to keep their
hands off the internet. The internet
is for Americans and then whoever else
wants to get in on America's great gift
and invention.

Congratulations to the parents. Not only did the dad see the birth but when old enough to understand it all, the twins will one day be able to see their DAD seeing THEM born. Technology is a beautiful thing. God bless them all.

Well I stumbled on this and thought I would say thanks to all the kind words you all said. I came back and the twins changed my life forever. It is such a great thing to be a dad even though they can be such butt heads sometimes!! LOL We also just had another Baby on Dec 3 2007 so now the twins are tormenting the little one but we do put a stop to that ASAP!!!
Well thanks again and keep on keepin on!!!
