In Hamburg, things are normal. I don´t dare to say that Hamburg is a quiet city at night, so the term "normal" fits in. I expect that the security services can handle the situation, and if not, well, it´ll boost our CDU-position to use the military for purposes in the homeland. When our soldiers can provide security in Kabul or Prizren, why not in Berlin or Frankfurt? If this is getting ugly, I would feel better with a G36 in my hand - or why do we have millions of these military rifles in our depots?

You are lucky - our glorified peacekeeping police, oops, military, is a joke. No one (at least those in the city) knows how to operate firearms here. I would say the only means of defence I have at home are two tennis rackets and four kitchen knives (one is a meat cleaver), and perhaps calling the police at 111, if things that are happening in Paris happen over here in Auckland.

The only consolation is that there seems to be far fewer than 10,000 Arabs or North African Muslims in NZ.

Ping! How about Australia?
