Babelfish is always good for a laugh. But usually one can tell what they are getting at in their fractured translations. But not this time. What on God's green Earth is an "interpellation"?

Is it the Babelfish version of "interpretation"? Is it something like an "intervention" for drunks and such? Or is it some curious physical act that can only be described by using puppets? Inquiring minds want to know.

Just checked in a French/French dictionary, which wasn't much help. Reading between the lines, I suspect it's something like a summons to appear.
