Pleasee sign this petition opposing the "Crescent of Embrace" design being developed for the Flight 93 memorial. Despite vague comments by the designer and the Park Service, the design is going forward as yet unchanged.

PETITION: Oppose the "Crescent of Embrace " Proposal for the Flight 93 Memorial

We must, as US citizens oppose this travesty and make our voices heard. If enough of us do so, we will be successful as we were in opposing the Flag Raising Monument in January of 2002 that had been planned for the WTC Flag Raising.

Start your email chains, link to it on your sites, talk it up in the forums you frequent, call your relatives and friends, inform your neighbors.

I imagine the libs and appeasers will get wind of this and attack it. There will probably be many fake and offensive signatures that require removal. It means we are hitting in the middle of the ring.

FReeped

The monument should definitely not be a cresecent. We're remembering the heroes, not the villains they fought.

I pinged Alouette, who has the biggest Jewish ping. I'm not sure who else. Well, might as well throw the Canucks in there. The petition said anyone could sign.

GMMAC, fanfan, get all the Tories down here. We need this FReeped.

I just signed it, and these are my comments that I added.

"I am getting REALLY fed up with this "political correctness" idiocy. Either the Park Service changes their minds, or maybe they should be completely defunded. Maybe the politicians who support this nonsense should be voted out of office. I'm certain that we could all make a very big mountain out of this mole hill. Wouldn't that be nice to have to face in the 2006 campaign?"

I believe that we can really clean some clocks if we want to. The ONLY thing holding us back is ourselves. Look at the state the Democrat party is in right now. Those bozos are reduced to putting nasty reviews on Michelle Malkins book at Amazon.com. The obvious joke to everyone is that the liberals have written these reviews without even reading the book. They are reduced now to calling Malkin all sorts of racial slurs (and yes, there were some on Amazons website that they later pulled down). The only thing the liberals have to offer are shrill threats.

I think we should not only go for a complete reversal of this moronic decision, but I think that we should put the fear of loosing ALL funding for even dreaming up crap like this! If we put that fear into the hearts of these bureaucrats, I doubt they would even want to entertain such ridiculous notions again. To a true bureaucrat their number one goal is self preservation. Serving the public good is a distant secondary goal.

You know, we took out Dan Rather and we're on the way with taking out the Washington Post. Through hard work, we have won some tremendous victories in the political arena. And these victories have been tremendous, don't ever let the Liberals tell you otherwise. Liberals like to claim that George W. Bush was reelected by a slim margin, and therefore he doesn't have a mandate. I say that's a bunch of bull! W was the first president who had won by electoral college and not popular vote to be reelected. He was the first son of a former president to be reelected. The stock market was down in September of that year, and it has been noted that 7 times out of 9 when the stock market was down in September, usually the incumbent would not be reelected. I added up all of the other political parties(Libertarian, Constitution, Green, Socialist, Prohibiton - yes they are still around!, Communist - 15 non mainstream parties in total) votes when I was looking at the numbers the day after the election in the morning, and added their numbers to John Kerry's total, and George W. still won decisively. And on top of all of that, the Republicans gained four seats in the Senate and five seats in the house! And on top of ALL OF THIS, all of these victories were accomplished with an OPENLY (I do hope you're reading this Washington Post) hostile and liberally biased mainstream news media.

All we have to do is speak up loud and clear. Let's raise some hell folks!

Amen...and they have already found out about this petition and are attacking it in the same manner. It just means we are hitting the mark.

Time to pour it on.

Flight 93 9/11 Crescent Memorial will be Redesigned

16 September 2005: On Wednesday, the National Park Service said key changes would be made to a proposed 9/11Pennsylvania memorial "to eliminate any association with a crescent -- a symbol of Islam."

Joanne Hanley, the National Park Service superintendent for the memorial, said that they have been receiving a number of growing complaints about the design, specifically that the design evokes Islam, the religion of the terrorists who hijacked the plane. As such, Hanley said that the memorial's name would be changed and that modifications in the design would be made to squelch a controversy that threatened to "blemish the intent of the memorial."

Hanley said: "the name change is going to happen." And "as part of the next step of the design process, [architect Paul] Murdoch is exploring architectural refinements" that will modify or eliminate the crescent.

This atrocity was commissioned by the National Park Service Memorial Project under the direction of Ms Joanne Hanley.

Comments and Suggestions are encouraged.

May I make a suggestion if you are serious about this? Email some of the bigger right wing blogs.

Off the top of my head I would definitely recommend Little Green Footballs (the Lizardoids would be all over this and there are at least 60 000 regular casual readers), Instapundit and Powerline. Hugh Hewitt too maybe.

GREAT suggestions! Please feel free to contact them. I am contacting as many organizations and people as I am familiar with too. The more of us who do so, the much broader the exposure.
