FReepers, write your senators. It really helps See that Newsweak's DNC mouth piece Elanor Cliff wrote the Dems should NOT filibuster Alito? Looks like the Talking Point is out they Dims don't have a hope of filibustering Alito. Too bad, we should of had the Constitutional Option in place 3 years ago, guess it will have to wait for the NEXT SC appointment.

So their strategy will be similar to what they did with the Michigan area court appointment -- delay delay delay until the sitting court, which includes the swinger SDO'C, makes some key decisions on cases already in the works.

Lest anyone harbor the mistaken belief that the nuclear option only plays with SCOTUS nominations, you may want to recall that several nominations to the Circuit Courts of Appeal are still pending.
I've been one of a few who remind the Senate to bring to the floor for debate and vote, the following nominations:
- Myers (9th Circuit) - Out of Committee on March 17, 2005
- Boyle (4th Circuit) - Out of Committee on June 16, 2005
- Haynes (4th Circuit) - First nominated on September 29, 2003
- Neilson (6th Circuit) - First nominated on November 8, 2001
- Saad (6th Circuit) - First nominated on November 8, 2001
- Kavanaugh (DC Circuit) - First nominated on July 25, 2003
AP Report Reid wants to filibuster Haynes & Kavanaugh - May 28, 2005
Fox News Report Reid will filibuster Saad & Myers - May 29, 2005
Boyle was nominated to 4th Cir. in 1991 too, by GHWB
