Steyn is one of my few fellow countrymen who actually sees and calls things for what they are. Which is exactly why he is a pariah here.
Steyn reminds me of the Canada that was, before Trudeau and the rise of Quebec. Younger people have no memory of what a great country Canada was, a global power in alliance with Great Britain and America.
I still believe Canada will rise again.

Problem is, that like always-we can't save ourselves without saving France too. It's a sh*tty deal, but it's the only one we have ever had.

Ths Longest Day was an excellent movie, seemingly one of the last of the patriotic Hollywood films. The cast reads like a who's who of hollywood.
Who can forget the paratrooper hung on the spire of the small Cathedral at Sainte Mère Église, with a balcony seat over the fierce firefight between the Germans and the 82nd airborne? Must see destination for American tourists, before the church gets torched.

The line came from my own free thought proccess, but if someone else released it into public domain before me, I respectfully surrender full credit to them. lol, my comment was a joke: spoofing the common conclusion that two minds acknowledging the obvious constitutes some sort of plagiarism. I've used this tagline off and on for a couple of years now but it's no reason for you to desist.

And sadly, so does everyone else, except those killed by the Monster.

I still believe Canada will rise again. It's not too late for us, especially in light of what's going on in Europe. They may have made us register our guns, but they haven't taken them away from us, at least, not yet. We have American style militias too, who work in tandem with your guys across the border. Whenever I get down about the current state of this country, I just remember to the south of us we have a great neighbour, a great example that still has tremendous influence on all we are. Thank God America is our neighbour and by example you won't let us slip down the same slope that Europe has.

I have no doubt of that.
I am waiting until the first few dozen French fatalities...
before I go over to a couple of other sites (slightly left of center) and...
through the miracle of necroposting to rather heated threads I started two (three, four, even five) years ago...
while being very sympathetic, of course...
asking those who disagreed with me whether I may now say "I [expletive] told you so."

When push comes to shove, you'll shake off the cheese-eating surrender-monkeys in Quebec and their accomplices in Ontario.
I wouldn't be surprised to see substantial progress within five years. Perhaps even America and Canada as full partners and allies again against the Islamic threat. Clearly, Canadians can no longer think that the Islamofascists are content to live peacefully in the West. The British and French problems show that thinking is simply wrong.
FRegards.

Shall we go bail France out again? Nahhh, I don't think so.

Some days I think the Muslims really could destroy a French government. The people of France themselves will have to rise up and throw these Muslims out.
