Bush Sends Eid al-Fitr Greetings to the World's Muslims Eid al-Fitr holiday marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan
President Bush sent greetings to Muslims around the world November 4 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the festival that ends the holy month of Ramadan.
In a White House press statement, the president welcomed the generous contributions of American Muslims to relief efforts in the wake of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
Following is the text of the press statement:

I send warm greetings to American Muslims and Muslims around the world observing Eid al-Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a time of prayer, reflection, and fasting. It is the holiest month of the Muslim year. To celebrate this holiday, many Muslims gather in their homes and mosques to thank God for His blessings and His help in keeping the fast. Muslims also demonstrate their compassion by reaching out to the less fortunate and giving gifts of money or food to help those in need. This year, many American Muslims have reached out to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma and to those affected by the devastating earthquake in South Asia. Their contributions have been generous and reflect the important values shared by all Americans.
Our Nation is blessed to count many Muslims among our fellow citizens. As Americans, we share a commitment to family, a belief in God's justice and man's moral responsibility, and hope for a future of peace and tolerance.
Laura and I send our best wishes for a joyful celebration. Eid Mubarak.

How about saying nothing? Why does our President need to honor a so-called Islamic "holy day"? Their entire satanic cult flies in the face of President Bush's professed Christianity.

What threads, and opinions, like this show, is how uneducated people are as to Islam when it's so easy to educate oneself in this area. It can be done in hours. Simply grab a Koran and read. More than likely you'll have seen enough within the first ten chapters which shouldn't take more than an hour to read through, and that's if you're a slow reader. So within an hour, one can get a pretty good jist of Islam simply by reading their "source." Yet, ...
Islam and its practices don't allow for the freedom of others, being non-muslims, to practice their religion openly and certainly not to prostheletize it. Certainly modern history supports that. Could be why christians get their throats slit on a daily basis around the globe.
Meanwhile, they play us for fools, witness France, by taking advantage of our hospitality and welfare and educationsal systems, then come here, establish their own little "countries within a country" which we firmly encourage. I'll tell ya what, go try to vocalize your Christmas holiday in predominantly muslim areas in the United States this Christmas season and see what happens. I dare ya.

Can't recall any Israeli's beheading Christians because they were Christians. Can you refresh my memory? Or maybe they stormed a Christian school and killed the children after holding them hostage for several hours.

Right. Only a small percentage do the dirty work. The rest render moral support, a solid homefront, which is now spreading globally, and financial and harboring assistence.
Meanwhile, ya never know the extent of the damage of the "innocent" ones, eh.
Honestly, while I know it's true, and there are a lot of people, I still can't believe that there are any people who actually believe tripe like this. If the "good" and "innocent" muslims were really anti-terrorism, simply put, they wouldn't be muslims! They might not switch religion, but they would certainly denounce Islam.
Oh yeah, I forgot, those that do usually get killed. Nice, eh!

You answered your own question.
Jesus Christ, but under orders of their own king to expand their empire.
Justification for being the "king" was by the divine will of God. And the distinct lines of the Union Jack is symbolic of Christian faith.
Insulting the Eid al Fatir never wins friends among disillusioned Muslims. Respectfully understanding Eid is a sedge way for conversing with Muslims.

It is hard for me to imagine that a 'godless atheist' has Muslim 'friends'. I think it is more likely that you have Muslim acquaintances who tolerate your infidel existence for the time being.
