Kofi will soon ask for a "bit fee".

A bit tax would become a tax byte. A very bad thing.

Why hasn't he been fired yet?

Why should he be fired? He's doing the job his employer hired him to do. Seeing as how his employer is a nest of thieves and thugs Kofi is the perfect man for the job.

The man who presided over what may be the most expensive scandal in the history of the planet tells us not to worry...

Please tell me again.
What's the importance of the U.N.
I seem to have forgotten or the U.N. some how is not
doing any and I mean any important work for any country in the world that I can see.
Please rulers of the world, tell me how the U.N. is
benefiting the average Joe in the world.

"The United Nations wants only to ensure the Internet's global reach, and that effort is at the heart of this summit."

Said the spider to the fly. My BS detector just went off so loud, the bell cracked.

Anyone who is stupid and/or brainwashed enough to believe anything wannabe tyrants like Kofi Annan have to say deserve to be slaves.

this dog of an argument won't bark.

Is this a conflation of Arthur Conan Doyle's, Sherlock Homes deduction about the dog who did not bark, and the old southern expression about the dog who will not hunt?

Whatever, this usurpation of the Web is a tree up with which I will not bark.

Further in the article Mr. Annan says:

.. developing countries find it difficult to follow all these processes and feel left out of Internet governance structures.

For historical reasons, the United States has the ultimate authority over some of the Internet's core resources. It is an authority that many say should be shared with the international community.

In summary,

Because some things are difficult- Third-world countries feel left out
They (and nameless "many") expect the U.S. to share the authority we have over the internet.

The absurdity of this notion is enormous.

I think we both know what old Winston would have said about Kofi's latest work of fiction.

Kofi,

The net is not yours. The net is not for you to prostitute to your cabal of dungheaded dictators and arabists.

Byte me.
