Falling Through the Cracks of DHS (Department of Human Services)

The high profile murder cases involving the deaths of two little girls Jetseta Gage and Evelyn Miller, prompted Channel 13 to spend two months looking into their cases. Both had active files with the DHS at the time of their deaths. That investigation turned up information about how the Department of Human Services handled their cases, but we also found a federal report exposing some flaws in Iowa's system to prevent abuse.
