I have been waiting two years to finally see battalion sized Iraqi Army units operate in Anbar.

It will be interesting to see how the U.S. media reports on this.

US launches offensive in Syria
That would be nice. :-)

Good! And I hope Iran is next!!! We can only hope. The commander of British forces in Iraq went public with the fact the Iranians are slipping sophisticated explosive devices across the border. These devices are fewer in number than most other kinds of IEDs, but they have a significantly higher casualty rate. At some point, the Iranians need to pay a price for this. The sooner the better.

The pajama media is, however, reporting on it:

Spread the word. "The Fourth Rail" blog by Bill Roggio is probably the best source for news on what is really happening in Iraq in terms of military operations. Bill himself has been invited to visit Iraq later this month, and I can only imagine that his analysis will get even more insightful.

You boys just conjure up out of thin air the troops needed for such an invasion?
To: jmc1969
God bless them all... I knew this offensive would begin once things were in place... Iran IS next, but I guess it would be too much to wish for Saudia Arabia too.

Oh, I don't know... the Afghans got the picture, as did "Bagdad Bob". You remember, "there are no Americans in Bagdad! ')

Well, this border securing exercise is going to be an on-the-job training thing for some time to come. Goodness knows the US has no experience in securing international borders. Maybe in a year or so we will have learned enough to put some of the experience into practice along our own borders.

Think Sharon.... Think IDF.
They took the Golan and were on the way to Damascus when stopped by the UN.
Taking damascus would not be much of a problem. The Syrian Army is a bunch of wosses

No it wouldn't but our boys are a little busy in Iraq at the moment. We would not go in without overwhelming force and that is not in theater at present.

Major fighting, heavy resistance. According to radio news. News slips past the MSM censors via radio even now.
