Buried deep in the massive House spending-cut proposal is a provision to do what many conservatives have been wanting to do for years: split up the liberal 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and allow President Bush to appoint some new judges to it.

It'll be great, indeed. And PLEASE tell me that the loonies already on the Ninth Circus will leave California and we'll get a whole new court. Let them go mess up Hawaii.
If they can clean up the 9th Circus they should be able to give the asses their own ring (Seattle, Portland, SF, etc).
Great News now lets see how the Senate responds.
If Nutty Pelosi says there's no justification then that's all the more reason for it!
OMG, OMG please let this be true!
I like your way of thinking!
I hope the new circuit divides california federal court wise.
Today the 9th next the state gets divided.
Aw, they propose only to split it in two and not into a three-ring circus.
If they could get the ninth out of CA, maybe it would really be the beginning of turning the state around! Woo-Hoo!
Yoo Hoo, ping a ling! Have you seen this?

Nice!
All of a sudden the Pubs have gotten a pulse. I like it.
It's not enough to divide it. What you do is you reduce the territorial scope of the district to northern California. Then you create about three new circuits in the other states. That way, we'll have thirty some liberal judges who's only responsibility is to decide cases that affect San Francisco and Oakland. Put new conservative judges in the new circuits.
And then stay the hell away from that piece of dirt.
Thanks for that post. I was wondering why there are only 9 circuits and if that was some sort of limit. Now I would like to know a little history.
How long have we had 9 circuits?
There are 11 Circuit Courts plus DC and a Federal Review Court.
