An ex co-worker of mine got beat up by her live-in boyfriend so badly (she was 9 months pregnant) he almost killed her. She was in the hospital etc. The baby is OK. He went to jail for 4 years. She waited for him and says she's "deeply" in love with him.

I told her that he will do it again.

She didn't want to hear it.

The abuse that goes on becomes addictive. I see abuse as a two way drug. It'll kill you - emotionally or physically or both, if you don't get out of the relationship.
