For someone who says other's opinions don't matter, you sure spend a lot to time explaining and justifying yourself. That's consistent with the well known pattern. But seriously, I have a confession to make. I have a serious, serious defect. Sometimes I'm unable to tell a troll from a flake at first. You sure had me going for a while there. Forgive me for thinking you were a troll.

OK - we get it that you write lousy limericks to explain that you've been busted. Putrid poetry to tell us what we've known from the start - it was a "fairy tale", conspiracy theory kook stuff. But to gloat that that's all you've got? Well - some strange, flaky people out there. Or maybe in light of recent replies you've gotten, just a sh*tty ditty to try to CYA?

So let's talk about those "burdens", shall we? The ones you say people other than you will bear. Only if they believed your baseless claims, which you yourself also say are baseless. You have too much pride and ego there, my friend, to think that when people tell you, "that's BS" they really mean, "I believe you". Too much blind pride can be a downfall. Attention hounds often fall that way.

So let's talk about those burdens, shall we? Your burden will be to learn the ramifications of appearing to have too much knowledge, when you might not. Are the people who really count in cases like this, and can do something about it, really convinced you were just BS-ing and CYA-ing? Was your acting perhaps a little too good and created doubt - somewhere other than here - that you weren't just good-naturedly joshing around? Everything has effect. Words included. One thing leads to another. But que sera sera, right?

I hope you understand that we're here just trying to help you.

Forgive me for thinking you were a troll.

Sure!!

It's painfully apparent that I was wrong to assume I would be given the benefit of the doubt that I wasn't a troll. It was obviously wrong of me to take your good will for granted and I should have repeated some sort of disclaimer, to make sure all posters and lurkers knew I wasn't a troll.

Here's my underlying point, which, as you've taught me, I'll have have to emphasize to make it clear enough for people who might suspect I am a troll.

I can't understand why the same people
who think Michael is an inveterate liar
accept anything
he has said about the night Terri "collapsed, "
including his statement that he was at home in bed.

I hope I've made my point clear enough.

You've said Michael was a liar, yet you accept his statement that he was at home.

Can you help me understand why you believe him?

Your burden will be to learn the ramifications of appearing to have too much knowledge, when you might not.

Your burden is to prove Michael was at home when the attempt was made on Terri's life.

Michael says he was at home. Does anyone else back him up?

I write lousy limericks for all occasions.

Sometimes I'm unable to tell a troll from a flake at first.

I've been wondering the same thing. If I had to vote right now, I'd write in "well intentioned, underinformed or misinformed, with a vivid imagination." But I'd rather hold off on voting until there's more to go on.

Trolls

Allow me to butt in here? I don't know either of you but the subject caught my attention. How does one show their sincerity when suspected of being a troll? One thread I have posted to has been pestered by trolls in the past. Therefore, when a new screen name appears, it apparently triggers immediate suspicion.

The alienation by some sends a message: "No newcomers welcome."

I decided that I don't need that c__p and in a very civil way, I bowed out.

That was followed by some of the FReepers on the thread asking me to stay...trolls have been attracted to the thread...in effect, they are leery, but now know I am not a troll.

The humorous side of this is, I didn't even KNOW what "troll" meant until I joined Free Republic. I posted to a topic, one which I had been following in the news.

I didn't need the written assaults and meanness I encountered by a few egomaniacs so I gave it up. They won.

I hope you understand that we're here just trying to help you.

I thought you were here to help people who are in danger, like Terri.
