Family members are investigating what they consider to be suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a nursing home patient at the center of a life and death tug-of-war reminiscent of the Terri Schiavo tragedy.
Seventy-nine-year-old Jimmy Chambers died in the early morning hours of Oct. 24 after the tracheotomy tubes that deliver oxygen from a ventilator to a hole in his neck became unhooked. Family members were told Chambers, a resident of the Anne Maria Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in North Augusta, S.C., apparently pulled the interlocking tubes apart.
"We're having it investigated. We're just incredulous," Chambers' daughter, Deanna Potter, told WND in reference to her siblings. "The last time I saw dad he was blowing me a kiss. I blew him one and he blew one back."
The retired dispatcher for Holland Motor Express died approximately 10 hours later. His death certificate indicates he died of "natural causes."
"Apparently, suffocation is a 'natural cause' when you're on a ventilator. We're contesting that," said Potter. "He suffocated. He didn't just pass away. He struggled and fought. And I'm just so angry."
Potter estimates it would have taken 10 to 14 minutes for her father, deprived of oxygen, to fall unconscious, and questions why the nursing home staff didn't come to his aid.
"The oxygen-saturation meter and his ventilator both would have had alarms going off. Four-thirty, five o'clock in the morning you'd think someone would hear this," she added. "That's the thing that really bothers me and makes me suspicious."

It was Michael Schiavo's wishes maybe even pre-dating February of 1990 for Terri to be deceased. However, he was cleared by State Atty Bernie McCabe of any wrongdoing. The cemetery marker speaks of premeditation and also of misrepresentations throughout the malpractice case that HINO was going to be there for Terri and take care of her. As soon as he had the cash, his efforts to bump her off resumed. And, if there was a blind trust, that's where all the money went and paid off upon Terri's death. HINO gets one payoff after another. I hope his book tanks next year.
There is a culture of prodding and obeyance. The hospice workers do not automatically do what needs to be done for those in their care.
PRODDING AND OBEYANCE and only if it's by the health care surrogate. Should not hospice here do their jobs automatically to make the patient comfortable? They are lucky to get a shampoo or their teeth brushed. I doubt that Terri was the only one there who didn't have clean hair or teeth.
I think they should be investigated, preferably an undercover ops.
If it's left Tampa, that's good because I'm sick of the billboards around Pinellas County, even near Hospice, of corpses posed as if running for their lives.
By the way, there's a new lit sign by Hospice. "Drive Slow to stop the dust." Guess it's getting pretty dusty and messy back by Hospice. They don't care as long as their 401Ks and hidden accounts are full.
Cheryl's book is like a guide so families don't get caught up in the "death care system" my words.
SINGING UNLOCKS THE BRAIN. Patients are improving.

EXCERPTED: "It would seem, and there is a lot of research about this, that the music has the ability to access words. It is so powerful that people who have lost their ability to speak can access songs and words from the melody."

FV says: This Clinton appointee hoodwinked the US Congress and the President by continuing Terri's tortuous starvation/dehydration instead of beginning her nutrition and hydration. Judge James Whittemore, praised by Fla AG Crist as a hero for helping kill her.
"EXCERPTED: "It would seem, and there is a lot of research about this, that the music has the ability to access words. It is so powerful that people who have lost their ability to speak can access songs and words from the melody.'"
Come to think of it, my dad who has Alzheimer's can't say more than a few words at a time, but can sing all of the words to his favorite songs.
COURT TV TRIAL - ANOTHER FLORIDA CASE: from Miami-Dade County. Joseph and Lamoy Andressohn are accused of starving their six month old daughter to death. "Parents are accused of starving baby."
(and Terri's parents were accused of trying to have her fed in the same state) Florida IS the starvation state until further notice.
Right now, they have a Ms. Shea Rarback, a nutritionist appearing as an expert witness. This is a case about vegan diets and supplements vs. chicken, fish, etc.
The Court TV anchor is reading emails now. "Where was the baby's doctor during this time?" via email.
http://www.familynightmare.org/ If you visit, please do so with an open mind. The State may be prosecuting the family unjustly but I don't have enough info on this matter to stamp the Andressohn's innocent or guilty but I know I don't trust Florida's protective services.
Alisa Manulkin, Ph.D., child psychologist is on the stand now. She assessed all of the children. Court TV didn't say who Manulkin is testifying for.
Miami University's Child Protection Team is still on the stand: Ms. Manulkin. She asked the one boy about his wishes. Amazing how liberals throw wishes around.
(Miami U. has a pro-death contingent on campus that is tied to a Pinellas Judge and also to Tallahassee's Elder Care programs.)
They are arguing there was a congenital defect, not due to malnutrition.
MARY ANDRESSOHN'S TESTIMONY: The father Joseph A. was more adamant about the children not eating cooked foods and forbade the children from having any. It appears the prosecution is going to delineate between the father and the mother for later on???
Ping.
I thought it was legal to starve someone to death in Florida. Did they fail to get the proper permits?
