UPDATE

AARON BROWN OUT AT CNN
Wed Nov 02 2005 15:43:11 ET

To: All CNN Staff

From: Jon Klein

We have made some programming decisions which will impact our prime time schedule as well as our colleague Aaron Brown. Aaron will be leaving CNN and is very much looking forward to some well-deserved time off with his family.

Aaron has made enormous contributions to CNN since his groundbreaking anchoring of Sept. 11th through the war in Iraq to the Tsunami to the recent hurricanes. Outside of the big stories, on a nightly basis, Aaron has provided our audiences with insight into the events of the United States and the world with eloquence and the highest journalist integrity.

Besides his stellar work as an anchor, Aaron stands as an absolutely brilliant writer, evident by the thoughtful perspective he injects into every story he touches.

Personally, I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor. We cannot thank Aaron enough for the skills and professionalism he brought to CNN. Given his respect throughout the industry, there is no question that he will be missed.

Don't worry he'll be back.

Aaron has a nickname - it's WTF?!

People have hated him since his days in Seattle and have seen him promoted all the way to a National Anchor.

And at every step of the way - from King-TV reporter - to KIRO anchor - to ABC anchor - to CNN anchor, vast numbers of people had one response:

WTF?! How did this nasal, boring, homely, pompous lamo get promoted?!

So all you lovers of Aaron Brown, the network execs love him - he reminds them of themselves -he'll be back.

"A book is my guess. I can't imagine what publisher would want him, though."

He could call Alfranken's publisher. . .

He cannot be a happy guy right now. . .

CNN is still on the air?

It should be replaced with another Bingo! channel.

BTW, isn't Anderson Cooper's mother Gloria Vanderbilt? I believe she is.

Birth - June 3, 1967 in New York City, to designer/heiress Gloria Vanderbilt and her 4th (and last) husband, writer Wyatt Cooper. His father died of a heart attack when Cooper was ten years old.

Education - BA in Political Science/International Relations from Yale University, 1989. Studied the Vietnamese language at University of Hanoi.

Family - Single, except for his dog, Molly, a Welsh Springer Spaniel

Cooper has frequently been publicly involved in supporting gay and lesbian issues.

Growing Up As a Vanderbilt: Though born into wealth, the teenage Cooper worked summers as a waiter. He pursued his first job, at age 11, as a Ford model because he "wanted to...be financially independent."

Cooper's older brother (by two years) committed suicide in 1988 by jumping from Vanderbilt's 14th floor apartment in New York. Before then, Anderson was on track at Yale to enter foreign diplomatic service.

After his brother's death, he took a year off, then pursued a job in TV. Anderson Cooper is mildly dyslexic.

It sounds as if being Gloria Vanderbilt's child wasn't easy.

Ari doesn't suprise me. He kicked butt in the daily news conferences and you can't think that fast and not be pretty smart. Anderson strikes me as a deep-thinker... and I'm not 100% convinced he is a died-in-the-wool liberal.

Since being a newsreader requires no talent, why not just hire the latest Miss America?

...That maybe worth watching for a few minutes...until she opens her mouth...then change the channel.
