UPDATE
AARON BROWN OUT AT CNN
Wed Nov 02 2005 15:43:11 ET
To: All CNN Staff
From: Jon Klein
We have made some programming decisions which will impact our prime time schedule as well as our colleague Aaron Brown. Aaron will be leaving CNN and is very much looking forward to some well-deserved time off with his family.
Aaron has made enormous contributions to CNN since his groundbreaking anchoring of Sept. 11th through the war in Iraq to the Tsunami to the recent hurricanes. Outside of the big stories, on a nightly basis, Aaron has provided our audiences with insight into the events of the United States and the world with eloquence and the highest journalist integrity.
Besides his stellar work as an anchor, Aaron stands as an absolutely brilliant writer, evident by the thoughtful perspective he injects into every story he touches.
Personally, I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor. We cannot thank Aaron enough for the skills and professionalism he brought to CNN. Given his respect throughout the industry, there is no question that he will be missed.
Good riddance...not that I ever watch the Crappy News Network anyway.
Thanks for the name. . .and the possibilities on the rest of the story. . . :^)
Too blase' for CNN? He was pretty lame. Any freeper could have done his broadcast only better.
Look at the bright side. Maybe the new face of CNN will be Alan Colmes :)

A book is my guess. I can't imagine what publisher would want him, though.
Before joining ABC News, Brown anchored the evening newscast for KIRO-TV in Seattle. Before that, he spent 10 years at Seattle's KING-TV as a reporter and anchor.
Worst anchor in television news history. ....by a wide margin. A thoroughly disgusting POS.
Great statement, CNN. It's one thing to be positive, or at least be as un-negative as possible, but heaping sugary praise on a guy that you're cutting loose just looks stupid.
To be the worst anchor in history is a stunning accomplishment. There's a lot of competition.
His boss explains that they fired him because of his "eloquence," "highest journalist integrity," "stellar work as an anchor," "absolutely brilliant writ[ing]," and "thoughtful perspective."
So, now we understand why they fired him.
Santa brought us an early Christmas present. HO! HO! HO!
I am glad he is gone. He behaved as a plant from the Pravda!
One down, many more to follow.
As long as they keep bringing in new anchors that are just as bad, or often worse than, their predecessors, it can well be called rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
I honestly think you could go out and grab the first guy you saw off the street and do better. Maybe he'd stutter or sweat, but at least he wouldn't have had all those years of training in propaganda techniques.
Yeah...a rising star on a sinking network. This bunch just keeps reinventing themselves without success. And to think Ted Turner actually said "We'll squash them like a bug" when Fox News started nine years ago. Still waiting, Ted.
BTW, isn't Anderson Cooper's mother Gloria Vanderbilt? I believe she is. I also remember watching an ABC show called "The Mole" that this little twerp was hosting. That's some kind of journalistic credentials right there. He should be an anchor on CNN. He meets the qualifications.
I hope CNN really believes this guy will save their network. They can put him on non-stop and in a year or so they'll be pushing him out the door the same way they booted Brown.
Now, if only MSNBC would do something about little Keith Olbermann.
Thats hilarious!
