Having visited France recently, I can attest to the fact that more and more of the common folk are starting to see that America is not the enemy, but that Chirac and his minions have surrendered their country without firing a shot. The reason islam has been so radicalized in Europe and not the US is that the Europeans, for all their righteous comments, are basically racists, americans are not. The immigrants from former french colonoes like algeria have been segregated in slums, been givne generous welfare benefits, and been allowed to breed like rats. In the US, muslims are mostly productive members of our society, and have asssimilated much more into the fabric of our culture. We are the melting pot of the world, the french are merely the loudmouth bigots of the world, and the difference between our countries has never been more evident than in this situation.
Yes! The first requirement for terrorist activities is a large insular community of sympathizers in which the actions can be incubated and back into which the terrorist can melt. We cannot allow the Islamist "teachers" to create such communities around mosques as they have done in England and Southeast Asia.
I've psoted this on several other related threads today. I view these riots as an attempt to get the French to crack down hard, as they are want to do, which will then be used as the "excuse" for a major terrorist strike in France..
SO TRUE!
Don't hold it against me, but I have relatives in France (and I love them all dearly). It's a little more complicated. Until the North Africans, the French were pretty successful at assimilating immigrants. We think of them as xenophobes, but it's got much more to do with cultural than racial pride. In general, as long as you became culturally French, the natives accepted you. The problem, at least according to my cousins, is that the Arabs have refused to become "French". This is a lot of the reason they're relegated to big projects on the outskirts of town. (In Europe, unlike the US, the center cities have all remained vibrant and desirable--the slums are in the outskirts.)
That's standard operating procedure for the French.
