Diana would be amused. Her successor and former rival, Camilla Parker Bowles, failed spectacularly in her attempt to wow Manhattan society with her sartorial splendor last night.
Dressed in an unflattering Anthony Price navy velvet frock with a fussy oversized chiffon collar, the Duchess of Cornwall arrived at a chi-chi cocktail party looking more like an escapee from the choirboy pew of Westminister Abbey than the guest of honor.
Earlier, Camilla caused quite a stir when she chose an eye-popping raspberry suit for her visit to Ground Zero.
We predict an "off-with-their-heads" ruling to come down on the core team who were supposed to create the "Camilla Chic" glamour on this trip..... and "a secret dresser," whose identity is fast becoming a gag in fashion circles.

Never even thought about that when I read about his 'PC'. . .in fact I wondered how could this be(?). . .but this 'Charles challenging GW' story was explored somewhere in 'Fox's' p.m. line-up. . .
A Brit offered that this conclusion - media hype - stemmed from a statement that the Prince made four years ago; just post 9/11 and Charles criticized what he thought was GW's too harsh response to Muslims. A response which may have stemmed from his philosophical 'appreciation' of things spiritual i.e. religious philosophy/'Great Religions' ~~~
But then of course, this was before home-grown Brits/Muslims bombed London as well. So, he may have a different take. . .not on things spiritual.; but on GW's seemingly harsh response.
That said. . .I don't know what Diana was thinking. . .save maybe she felt like she was giving the Royals a poke-in-the-eye.
Her problems aside...hard to know just exactly. . .how naive Diana was or maye even. . .'if' she was. . .
LOL. . .on the oxymoran. . .
Not stating a case for' the 'monarchy'; or'restricted ones for that matter. . .a Republic is surely the best. . .for most. . .A Democracy can be as tyranical as the worst Dictatorsip. . .and of course, socialism is just an overlay of the old feudal kingdom with it's own evil overtones and potentialities. . .
Seems - thanks to Liberalism - and it's proponents - we now fall a category of 'all the above'. . .and we are sliding further into a socialism by virtue of increasingly democratic means. . .and with all the inherent dangers of rule by the majority. . .
Worst case scenario - being orchestrated as it is, now - would be a Hillary or Clinton, Inc. presidency.
A win for Hillary. . .would put us into a 'free-fall'; into a tyranical democracy; or what one might call. . .a genuinely evil kingdom.
Could we all just see some beauty here in that Great Britain IS our friend. . .moralitiy verse aside. . .'a friend in need. . .is a friend, indeed. . .'
. . .and we are the 'host' Country here. . .
Of course, Helen Thomas is NO Camilla; by her politcs alone; and yes, her face - and all that goes with it - as well ;^)
then we would be the real first communistic republic in world history unlike the failed communism of the USSR and the ChaiComs. the queen(sarcasm) beast will succeed where her mentors lenin and mao failed.
LOL. . .we hope. . .and no doubt a page similar. . .in the beast's playbook.
This was all part of Diana's fatal narcissism and vindictiveness. It was a thumb in the eye of the Royals.
And, it is very telling that the Dodi Fayad "affair" was contrived and timed as a photo op to upstage the first public appearance of Prince Charles with Camilla [at her sister Annabelle's birthday party at the Ritz].
The real tragedy of Diana's life was entirely self-inflicted.
Does she make her own clothes?
