Mysterious sweet smell returns to Manhattan, without explanation

The Sweet Smell came back.

Call it molasses- or maple syrup-like, the mysterious fragrance that confounded the noses of perhaps thousands of New Yorkers seven weeks ago returned to several spots in Manhattan Thursday.
Once again, no one knew what it was.

Strange smells and they still don't know what the source is?

That is hard to understand.

So many strange smell reports, is it that we are looking for them, or are they new.......tests?

Maybe it's the cry wolf test. Several fake runs and then when the real sweet odor appears no one will pay attention.
