The Ciampino Airport in Rome, where the Olympic torch is expected today, experienced a thorough search due to a bomb threat.
An Italian police official told Reuters news agency that the airport is closed; and the search has revealed nothing so far.
The Olympic torch's arrival is awaited for the Winter Olympics, which will be held in the city of Torino between February 10 and 26.
