ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Away from the manger?

Saying it would be "inappropriate" to include them, Memphis, Tenn., library officials have banned Mary, Joseph, Jesus and the wise men from a promotional nativity scene – leaving only the stable animals and a shepherd boy.

Attorneys from the Alliance Defense Fund say they are working to "educate" the officials about their action, saying the exclusion of the figurines is blatantly unconstitutional.

ADF confirmed to WND that the "nativity" scene is up at the library but includes just three palm-sized farm animals and a boy with a sheep over his shoulders.

According to a statement from ADF, the controversy arose when Brandi Chambless, a member of the music ministry at Broadmoor Memphis Church, submitted an announcement for display on the library's community shelves regarding the church's upcoming Christmas show. Library officials accepted the announcement but told Chambless that she would have to remove the "inappropriate" figures of the baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary, and the wise men from an accompanying nativity scene and limit it to farm animals alone."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Bartlett library keeps baby Jesus out of nativity display Dec 6, 2005, 10:02 PM CST

You can see Santa on the door here, there are also Happy Chanukah, Kwanzaa and Merry Christmas signs inside, but you won't find any nativity scenes because the library won't allow them and that could land the library system in court.

But a close look at this nativity scene at the Bartlett Public Library has something missing: Jesus, Mary or Joseph?

Library officials banned the figurines from a public display."

"Pastor’s Nativity Scene Vandalized In Draper"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(KUTV) DRAPER Police are investigating the vandalizing of a Christmas nativity scene in Draper."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The baby Jesus was put back in the manger Tuesday after the figure was taken by vandals last Friday night while the pastor and his wife were helping put together a children's show at their church.

When the Bergs got home that night, a picture of King Herod was taped to the nativity scene, blindfolds had been put on Mary and Joseph, and baby Jesus was missing.

“And the note said King Herod has taken your baby Jesus,” said Pastor Berg.

The note said baby Jesus would be found at the South Mountain Bridge. Pastor Berg called police who went to the bridge, found baby Jesus and returned the figure to the Bergs. The figure had been damaged, they had used red nail polish to signify blood on his hands and feet.

The next night, someone threw trash on the nativity scene, and the night after that, someone knocked over the Berg's trash cans."

Stable animals, and shepherd boys have no meaning during CHRISTMAS, apart from CHRIST!
