I know our Olympians want to compete in China, but wouldn't it make more of a statement if we refused to participate in the Olympics in China, given their human rights violations? No matter the lives of the 16 Catholic nuns are at stake. It's essentially all about the money in foreign trade and diplomatic relations with the manufacturer of about 90% (it seems to me) of American goods. Question is, are we feeding a dragon that is going to exhale fire on us one of these days?

OPINION: It would make a powerful statement.
