Also, questioning Tucson?? Border area, illegals? 500 seems like a lot for one year. .

I wonder if my Purell will work? Considering how cold it has been here I can wear my mittens when I go to the store. I don't know, it's all kind of depressing, I'm going to take my Amazing Grace bubble bath and snuggle in bed and not worry.

I bought a keychain hand sanitizer (actually fits on keychain and is refillable). Gloves or mittens are great for touching shopping carts - I always wash them in hot water when we return home. Don't know if that helps, but it makes me feel like it does.

MRSA rampant in prisons

SNIP: Ray and coworkers[23] reported a population-based surveillance for invasive MRSA based on positive cultures from normally sterile sites as a component of CDC surveillance in 9 different geographic locations. There were 8353 cases, primarily with positive blood cultures (87%). Of these, 13% were community-acquired. The community-acquired cases were characterized by more cellulitis, deep abscesses, septic arthritis, and endocarditis. There were substantial geographic differences -- USA300 accounted for 24% of MRSA in California, but only 3% in New York State.

Personal note: Does illegal population in California have a bearing on the raised percentile in that state?
