Colorado Springs testing radiation detectors at intersections
SNIP:COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Monitors designed to detect and help track down radiation sources such as "dirty bombs" will be installed on traffic-light poles in an early test of a homeland security system.
The devices, made by Mobile Detect Inc. of Toronto, will transmit radiation levels to the city's traffic control center. High radiation levels will trigger cameras to start filming in an attempt to find clues to the source.
Reports of hantavirus in India
SNIP:The report is the first of its kind in India showing evidence of Hantavirus infection in the population. Researchers analyzed a group of 152 patients with symptoms of fever for antibodies against Hantavirus, out of which 23 (14.7 per cent) were positive for the infection. In contrast, only 5.7 per cent of healthy blood donors tested were positive.
