ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The baby Jesus was put back in the manger Tuesday after the figure was taken by vandals last Friday night while the pastor and his wife were helping put together a children's show at their church.

When the Bergs got home that night, a picture of King Herod was taped to the nativity scene, blindfolds had been put on Mary and Joseph, and baby Jesus was missing.

“And the note said King Herod has taken your baby Jesus,” said Pastor Berg.

The note said baby Jesus would be found at the South Mountain Bridge. Pastor Berg called police who went to the bridge, found baby Jesus and returned the figure to the Bergs. The figure had been damaged, they had used red nail polish to signify blood on his hands and feet.

The next night, someone threw trash on the nativity scene, and the night after that, someone knocked over the Berg's trash cans."

Yes. (sigh) This is true. We are having worship services on Saturday this year with our church family. We have a very large membership.

I'm having a fellowship at the house though, with praise and worship and a dinner for a few folks without family in town.

I'm not aware that this decision was made for security reasons. I think it is for family time. We have a very large staff and lay ministry.

We do have tightened security at the church throughout the week and more so on Sundays. We have had threats in the past, but it may not have anything to do with WOT.

I posted Sunday or monday about it, as it was on the KGO radio news, on the half hour. At first with "old Christmas stuff in it" the the last that I heard as "Electric Christmas lights" were in it.

Velveeta found an article that says it has a "stained glass
with candles ornament" in it.

It was in a suitcase left on the roadway of the Bay Bridge.

When I heard it was a stained glass and candle ornament, then to me it yelled out "Catholic Church".

Will the Feds catch the connection?

I really do think there is a connection, the only problem with it is "where"?????

LOL, as I recall your photos, it was a black baby, still it made me recall a white cat, of over 50 years ago, who broke a leg and had a cast on for Christmas weeks......

I have to laugh, kids were small and the Christmas tree was
exciting to all of us, laugh, I was young too then.

In every photo of the tree, there lies Boots in his cast.

He loved all that extra attention and had figured out that the route to the most kind words and loving, was to be the center of it all, under the Christmas tree...........

I would think that the threats do come from the terrorists, their goal is to get rid of churches and Christians.

There have been many attacks on churches in the U.S., the media chooses to not report them.

What was the famous Cathederal in New York that burned a couple of years ago? St. Peter?

There was a Church in the east, that had such an explosion, that the photos, looked like matchsticks, not lumber, that has not been more than 2 or 3 years, as I saw it on the internet.

I went to Willow Creek mega church once with a friend.
What a circus!
Very nice people, thousands of them!
I guess they're used to it and my friend was very proud of her affiliation and felt very comfortable there.

To me, it seemed strange that you have to register for tickets to get into your church.
And a gift shop at church (they call it a bookstore) was odd, IMO.
I did enjoy the services - kind of like going to a rock concert. LOL

Once was enough.

Plane Reportedly Crashes in New Brunswick

PENNFIELD, New Brunswick - A plane reportedly crashed in flames Wednesday in the eastern Canadian province of New Brunswick. A local radio station quoted witnesses as saying the plane, described by some as a four-engine aircraft, apparently went down in the water near Pocologan, in southwestern New Brunswick.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said officers were investigating the report and searching the area of the reported crash.

The federal agency Transport Canada said it had no reports of any missing civilian aircraft, and the Department of National Defense said a military aircraft was not involved.

No, but we are an evangelical fundamentalist church. There are two wings of the Presbyterian Church. There is Presbyterian Church USA and they're the weird liberals who condone same sex marriage and they're the ones busy divesting themselves of all ties to Israel. That's NOT my group!

OTOH, Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is the small splinter group that split off in the 1960's over the issue of gun control (PC/USA wanted to get politically involved in pushing for more gun laws) and PCA said the business of the church was to push the agenda of Jesus Christ. We support a lot of overseas missionaries as well as local ministeries to feed the poor, etc. To my knowledge, the closest Mega Church to me is the Coral Ridge Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale which has a televised service nationwide. The Pastor is Dr Kennedy. But I think all churches are targets for ungodly whackos and Jihadis.

Plane crashes into sea off Canada: TV Reports

Dec 7, 2005 — OTTAWA (Reuters) - An aircraft crashed into the sea off the Canadian Atlantic province of New Brunswick on Wednesday, television reports said.

Early reports said the plane was a four-engined Hercules transport plane. But a spokesman for Canada's military told CTV Television that none of its Hercules planes were missing, and there were also reports that it might have been a small craft.
