Al-Qaida has named Queen Elizabeth II "one of the severest enemies of Islam," the Sunday Times newspaper reported, citing a video message allegedly obtained by Britain's security service.

I wonder what religion the Queen is? Church of England?

Charles was just in the US promoting Islam was a peaceful religion wasn't he?

11/9--Jihad strikes Jordan – and it's not because of
Operation Iraqi Freedom
FrontPageMagazine.com ^ | November 10, 2005 | Dr. Walid Phares

Posted on 11/10/2005 5:00:07 AM PST by SJackson

After every jihadist terror attack or violent outburst around the world,
the mainstream media always advances its myriad theories about the
so-called “root causes” of the particular attack in question.
Unfortunately, most of the time their analyses are fictions. That was
the case last week with the interpretations of the French Intifada. And
this is the case again just hours after terrorists struck three hotels in
downtown Amman, Jordan.

Some commentators rushed to conclude that Jordan was targeted just
because it was an ally of the United States and a backer of the war in
Iraq. From al-Jazeera's opinion-makers to mainstream news agencies
in the West, the common wisdom overflowed: had the small Arab
Kingdom not involved itself in Iraq “regime change,” the angry
nationalists wouldn't have shed Jordanian blood. Unfortunately, this
equation misses the mark.

So what then is behind the surge of terror in the Hashemite Kingdom?

First, one has to consider the weight of Jordan's. Jordan is ruled by a
prominent Arab Muslim dynasty, the Hashemites, who are a serious
competitor to the Wahhabis. The Hashemites are not the equivalent of
Monaco's princes in Europe. In the Arab world, the ancestors of King
Abdallah were the legitimate rulers of Mecca and Medina until the
Saudi clan "invaded" Western Arabia in the 1920s. The remnant of the
Hashemites established TransJordan with the help of the British as
Wahhabism took hold of the peninsula and its religious shrines. Since
then, the Saudi Kingdom exported fundamentalism, while the
Hashemite Kingdom established a monarchy. The result: two
fundamentally opposing views of Islam and the world.

Next, al-Qaeda grew out of the Cold War. While bin Laden pledged to
destroy America and the infidels, King Hussein remained a faithful ally
of the West and a proponent of a peaceful settlement between the
Israelis and Palestinians. After his passing, his son, Abdallah, pledged
to resume his father's anti-terrorism stance.

How real is threat of terrorists using weapons of mass destruction?
Sum of all fears doesn't always add up
By Charles J. Hanley
ASSOCIATED PRESS
Sunday, November 13, 2005
After the warehouse raid in northern Jordan, the word from authorities horrified the people of Amman. Terrorists linked to al Qaeda had assembled a fearsome array of chemicals and planned a bombing that would send a 2-mile-wide "poison cloud" over the Jordanian capital, killing as many as 80,000 people, military prosecutors said.

Osama bin Laden's foot soldiers had finally concocted a weapon of mass destruction.

Former ambassador to speak about rifts tearing apart Muslim world
By ROB CHANEY of the Missoulian

Sunday, November 13 2005

As horrific as the destruction of the World Trade Center was on Sept. 11, the United States may not have been the real target, according to a former diplomat with more than a decade's experience in the Middle East.

“That may have been the beginning of the Saudi civil war,” said Barbara Bodine, who was ambassador to Yemen from 1997 to 2001 and served briefly as post-conflict reconstruction coordinator in Baghdad in 2003.

“I think what we're seeing is far more a battle within the Arab/Muslim world for supremacy, and we are the collateral damage.”

Bodine, in an interview Friday, argued that Osama bin Laden and his terrorist colleagues were looking for ways to strip away support from the Saudi Arabian government and other regimes that are dependent on the United States for financial and military support.

She compared it to the bombings of vacation sites in Indonesia by Islamic terrorists, which appear aimed at discouraging the crucial tourism market.

Similarly, much of the civil fighting in Algeria was directed at what she called “insufficient Moslems rather than the infidel,” in an effort to resurrect the Islamic empire of a millennia ago.

[I'm not sure about the US not being the target, it seemed to me that it was. However, I can only imagine if bl is still alive he must be jealous that Zarqawi can still carry out terrorist acts and he can't. It's only human nature in the terrorist world to want to be the top s%$#head!!]

[King Abdullah II better hire loyal American christian bodyguards]

Jordan's King Demands Anti-Terror Push
By PAUL GARWOOD
AMMAN, Jordan - King Abdullah II called for a global fight against terrorism Saturday as Jordan acknowledged for the first time that al-Qaida in Iraq used three foreign suicide bombers to attack Amman hotels, killing 57 others.

The devastating strike was masterminded by Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, signaling his group is able to launch terror attacks outside war-ravaged Iraq. Abdullah called al-Zarqawi a growing threat to the Middle East and put the international community on notice that it must cooperate to fight terrorists.

"Terrorism is a sick and cross-border phenomenon. Therefore, eradicating it is the whole world's responsibility," he told the state-run Petra news agency.

"I think that to walk into the lobby of a hotel to see a wedding procession and to take your wife or your spouse with you into that wedding and to blow yourself up (showed) these people are insane," Abdullah said.

"Jordan Captures Wife of Suicide Bomber"
Yahoo News (AP) ^ | 11/13/2005 | AP (Jamal Halaby and Zeina Karam )

Posted on 11/13/2005 7:19:47 AM PST by wjersey

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "AMMAN, Jordan - Jordan on Sunday arrested the Iraqi wife of a suicide bomber, who tried but failed to blow herself up in attacks that killed 57 people, after police were tipped-off to her existence by an al-Qaida claim that a total of four bombers had carried out the attacks.

The woman failed to blow herself up at the Radisson SAS hotel on Wednesday night after apparently struggling with the cord on her explosives belt, Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said. Her husband saw her fumbling and "pushed her out of the ballroom," he said. "Once she was out, he blew himself up."

Officials said the woman, age 35, would confess on state-run TV later Sunday.

The dramatic turn in the case came as Jordanian officials identified the three suicide bombers, including the woman's husband, as Iraqis, in their first detailed explanation of who carried out the deadly attacks.

The woman was identified as the sister of Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's former right hand man in Iraq's volatile Anbar province."
