"I am directing you, under the provisions of Code of Canon Law ... to dismiss Ms. Bain with all deliberate speed."
I am not even Catholic and I stand and applaud the good Bishop.

The move came
thanks to the efforts of a 15-year-old student at the Loretto High School who says she owes her pro-life convictions to a project she did in her freshman year. Katelyn Sills, 15, has taken part in pro-life rallies outside the Sacramento-area Planned Parenthood abortuary with her family. And when at school she noted an uncanny resemblance between one of the escorts at the abortion center and a teacher, she mentioned it to her mother Wynette Sills.
Her mother took photos of Bain escorting women into the abortion center and sent them in an email to Bishop Weigand September 19. In the email, the elder Sills said, "If the identification is verified, clearly this individual cannot be a part of the Loretto staff."
What a gal, what a mom! Thank God for their faith and ACTION.

Great. She learns a tragic lesson, we will be persecuted for speaking out. They Crucified mOur Lord, they will try and crucify us when we imitate Him.

"Catholic young people....Their witness does not end when the school bell rings at the end of the day or the school year concludes at the beginning of summer."And that's that.

I hope she is reinstated (if she wants to return there). If I were the bishop, I'd be having some serious words with the school administrators. Maybe they should all be thrown out, since they seem to be having a hard time dealing with a teacher who actively promoted abortion while employed there.

"Do you know what happened?"
I have seen the evidence on both sides of the issue, but I have been asked not to share pending review by a lawyer.

It is great to see the unashamed application of moral principles.

And it's surprising that a Catholic High School turned out to be a snotty, cliquey place which doesn't respect people's beliefs... how? Even if Katelyn is permitted to go back to school there, and I'm sure that the bishop will intervene on her behalf, I'd advise her not too. She's better off going to a suburban public school with a college prep. program and where more diversity of thought is permitted.
And if anyone disagrees with me... I know firsthand how Stepfordlike the Catholic school system is. If you don't conform to X, Y, & Z, you end up being shunned by your peers, the prinicpal, etc... Frankly, having the put up with those types of people for thirteen years is the reason that I no longer attend a Catholic church.

Expelling this student shortly after the bishop ordered them to fire their abortionist teacher is going to get them into a load of trouble, if you ask me. Whatever reasons they allege are going to be trumped by what is clearly the overriding issue.
It strikes me as a very stupid move.

I only know what I've read on the internet. The teacher would escort women having abortion across the street from the pro-life groups to the 'safety' of the abortion clinic. I'll try to find an earler thread on this. It was pretty recent.
