FLASH: Lott Questions Whether Rove Should Stay At White House...Trent Lott became the first Republican Senator to question whether Karl Rove should stay at the White House as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, interview on MSNBC 'HARDBALL'... Developing...
Lott gives yet another reason to be thankful he is no longer Majority Leader. I can't decide which "conservative" Republican turns my stomach more - Lott or McCain.
Ping.
Lott tends to be among the more reasonable senators. I'm curious to know why he is joining the moonbat coalition and calling for Rove's head.
Has Trent been litening to the Farrakhan wing of moonbats?
"I'm expecting Lott to announce that he's a Democrat any day now."
or to announce his retirement! It is a mutual benefit.
Me thinks Trent still has his panties in a wad over the spanking he got for his comments at Strom's birthday party.
(FWIW, I thought that affair was overblown also)
Bingo!
I bet old Trent thinks this is time for some payback for his own past political woes. Hey, Trent, try to catch a clue here, man, this conservative train is picking up speed -- get on board of get lost!
Trent recently suffered a head injury when he fell through a deck elevator aboard an LPH under construction in Pascagoula...
That's BS. Lott was not a good leader. It's as simple as that. Rove and Bush don't even have a vote in the Senate.
If this is Lott's idea of payback, then you can easily see why he's not longer the majority leader.
Senator Lott,
So glad the you were replaced by Bill Frist. You had your @ss handed to you by Tom Daschle and now you want someone to do it again. At least show some degree of learning behavior, will you?
Have a nice day,
TTTC
Republicans question whether Trent Lott should remain in the Senate
He was a RAT before he became a Republican.
Go to hell Trent you stupid RINO!
Exactly.
So, what are you saying? You don't like Rove Blah Blah Blah??
</sarcasm>
Trent Lott's Better Days
Ok, I'm going to take the contrarian view from most of the posts on this thread. It's human nature, IMO, to exact revenge. Regardless of what you think of Trent Lott, he got the shaft bigtime with the phony baloney Dem instigated charge of bigotry for the comments he made at an old man's birthday party, in Trent's attempt to flatter him and make him feel good in his old age. Trent had the best of intentions w/Strom, and the Dems took Trent's praise of Strom's service to his country, plucked out one sentence, and blew it up into a big phony incident.
There was a large chunk of Pubs who wanted Trent out as Majority Leader, and used this excuse to push Lott out of his leadership position. They succeeded, and Bush, via Rove, did nothing to stop it; in fact Bush came out and condemned Trent for making improper remarks. They stabbed him in the back, and gave him no support. It cost Lott his leadership post. How happy would you be? And do you think that Frist is doing any better in that position? I don't. I think Frist is as big a wimp as Lott was accused of being.
Lott's lack of support for Rove, whom he considers to have been the WH engineer in getting rid of him from his Majority Leader position, is, to me, totally understandable. If it were me, I'd be out for revenge too, any opportunity I would get. It really has little to do with his Pub credentials, he almost always votes the right way; it has to do with his exacting his pound of flesh from someone he considers has done him dirty.
I'll bet a whole bunch of Freepers would think about doing the same if their situation was similar to his, and considering the results that came from it (Lott's loss of a prestigious position over a bullsh*t charge of bigotry made against him). Put yourself in his shoes, if possible, although highly unlikely. It's a lot easier to march lockstep in condemning Lott than consider the reasons for his action and words.
Trent, you're going to be late for cheerleader practice...
