In Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, Alito saw a spousal-notification provision as constitutional. The USSC later ruled otherwise but Alito's reasoning was cited by the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist in a dissent. That's the late PA Gov Casey---last of the great pro-life Democrats.

I don't know enough yet to shout hurray, but I'm sensing from the recent and odious activities of the Senate Liberal Dems (and of some Rhinos as well) that Alito is a very good nominee who will be much harder to Souterize than Harriet Miers.
