Why don't the Republicans all walk out?

They want to get the deficit reduction bill passed, which would be a victory (of sorts, as is always the case with these things) for our side. Frist should say we will move ahead on the nation's business AFTER I kick Harry Reid's ass around the capitol.

Why don't they just change Rule 21 to require a majority vote? They already have the option to to change any Senate rules since they left it open for the nuclear option.

Thought I saw somewhere in this thread that a majority could open up the session again. Why don't they just do that if it is permitted and get on with the bill passage?
