The Democrats' nuclear option. They beat the GOP to it.

Abuse is abuse. If the Democrats insist on continuing this abuse day after day, I see no reason to enact the rule change until this congress is completed.

I'm making the argument against changing Rule XXI.

As for Nomination and the Cloture Rule, I advocate modification of the Nomination Rule to resemble the Treaties Rule, and leaving the Cloture Rule alone.

I made my first contribution in over 1 year to the Republican National Committee TODAY - I told them I was happy for the recent turn of events and will do ALL I can to help DEFEAT those enemies of America - namely Senators and Representatives of the democratic/communist party. I encourage all of you who have sat on the fence to get off now and start the money flowing in and let's send OUR message along with an e-mail to Harry Reid and company!

Maybe he and Savage can go skipping into the sunset together holding hands.

They can take Chris Matthews with them as their virgin queen!

"Someone give me a bat to beat Jack Cafferty with...." Is Droopy all fired up? "Hot damn, we're gonna call Bush a liar!"

I am sooooooo sick of hearing the word "liar" come out of those LYING mouths of every LYING democrat. Somehow they manage to use "liar" 12 times in a 10 word sentence if they are talking about ANY Republican!

If you woke them up from a dead sleep and told them their house was on fire...the first words out of their LYING mouths would be..."Bush lied!"

Ugh!

I am shocked that these reporters are actually asking some tough questions of these democratic senators. I'm not used to this Fair and Balanced reporting.

The one where no one was charged with the alledged crime?

It's the one where after two years it hasn't even been established that the alleged crime even occurred.

I hope it does. Abolishing the filibuster would be payback for what they've done. And quite justified too.

If the Democrats even think about filibustering Alito after this, the repercussions in the 2006 elections will be huge.

Appropriately, Leahy is the first Dem to come out and leak what was going on in closed session.

I've been watching all this transpire today. Frankly, Reid and the Senate Dems employed a little used rule to get their way. They caught the GOP Senate leadership flatfooted. Listening to Frist, Santorum and Lott whine aloud is the real downside to all this. When Frist said, the Pubbies won't get down in the gutter with the Dems, I was wondering, why not? Sometimes you've got to fight fire with fire. Take off the gloves and have a bareknuckle fight. Is the GOP Senate leadership not good at hand to hand combat? Seems like it.
