Hillary: Libby's Leak Lie 'Reprehensible'
NewsMax.com ^ | Nov. 1, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is blasting former top White House aide Lewis Libby for allegedly lying to investigators, saying his decision to leak CIA employee Valerie Plame's name to the press was "simply reprehensible."

"Taking such action for political purposes is simply reprehensible and should never be tolerated," Clinton complains in a statement posted to her web site.

The former first lady, who had her own truth-telling problems in the Travelgate scandal, said Libby's attempts to "interfere with the investigation" by deceiving investigators "raises serious national security concerns."

"This administration owes our CIA agents around the world a promise that their identities will never be jeopardized," she railed. "And it owes the American people direct answers and responsible action."

In 2000, then-Independent Counsel Robert Ray issued his final report on the Travelgate probe, where he concluded: "The overwhelming evidence establishes that Mrs. Clinton played a role in the decision to fire the [travel office] employees and thus her statement to the contrary under oath to this office is factually false."

Title should be "Hillary called Libby second rate lier" She was quoted as saying that; "I told bigger lies in the third grade and didn't get caught. He didn't even know how to use the 'I don't recall line which I illustrated hundreds of times on national TV'.

The Library of Lies" could be called a Liebrary. Apropos: I'm attending a convention in Little Rock next year and the libs who organized it are having the opening social at the Liebrary. I really don't want to go to that double-wide massage parlor for fear of some contamination, but will be forced to attend. Any suggestions as to comportment? GAG! I'll have trouble equating that collection of lies to our inspiring visit to the Reagan Library.

She would know. I can't wait til trial, Scooter: Yes, you honor I cannot tell a lie. I told the truth and then tried to cover my mistake. I am now fully aware it is not a good idea to tell the truth in the first place.

I would just like the same standards to be applied to everyone. Hillary was allowed to skate on Travelgate.

If Libby committed the crimes alleged then he should face the consequences. I make no excuses for him. But it IS infuriating when I think of Bill, Hillary, Sandy Berger, etc.

I still don't think the Bush white house does the best job of getting the message out about Iraq, or many matters.

And for all the Democrat spin about "lying about sex" versus "outing a CIA agent" - which makes me sick beyond belief to hear - I have NEVER heard one Democrat suggest that either the sexual harassment law (that Bill Clinton signed!) or the CIA leak statute (under which NO indictments were brought) be changed. It's just spin, lie, spin. it shouldn't surprise me at this point, but it's still galling.

Reprehensible? I'll tell you what's reprehensible, Shrillery. Your boyfriend lefty Vince Foster shooting himself right-handed. No one does that. Where were his manners, using the off hand? How gauche! Or droit!

If I was Hillary I would be very, very quiet about this whole thing ... so quiet they would forget I'm even here..... given the relationship between the Clinton's and Marc Rich and Marc Rich and Libby... connect dots Hillary, we are not stupid.

________

Did she say this? Or is it the reporter?

Someone needs a nice cup of STFU, Libby was not indited of leaking a CIA operatives name. You would think that she knows what the words "is" and "perjury" are by now.

Sheesh, there is no facet of her being -- past, present or future -- that isn't reprehensible. She would do herself a big favor by keeping her reprehensible mouth shut.

Every time she, or one of her minions, makes a public statement such as this, there should be no complaining on the right. A prominant republican should simply issue a statement referring to her false statements in the travel office investigation and ask her if she feels she received special treatment.

No whining to or about her. Simply respond with specific, documented instances of similar behavior on her or other dems parts. This should be done EVERY SINGLE TIME. We need to be consistant and relentless. We don't have to be snooty or nasty. It can be done politely and professionally.
