Hillary: Libby's Leak Lie 'Reprehensible'

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is blasting former top White House aide Lewis Libby for allegedly lying to investigators, saying his decision to leak CIA employee Valerie Plame's name to the press was "simply reprehensible."

"Taking such action for political purposes is simply reprehensible and should never be tolerated," Clinton complains in a statement posted to her web site.

The former first lady, who had her own truth-telling problems in the Travelgate scandal, said Libby's attempts to "interfere with the investigation" by deceiving investigators "raises serious national security concerns."

"This administration owes our CIA agents around the world a promise that their identities will never be jeopardized," she railed. "And it owes the American people direct answers and responsible action."

In 2000, then-Independent Counsel Robert Ray issued his final report on the Travelgate probe, where he concluded: "The overwhelming evidence establishes that Mrs. Clinton played a role in the decision to fire the [travel office] employees and thus her statement to the contrary under oath to this office is factually false."

Your response begs four questions. First off, didn't the libs say the same thing (Bush lied, people died) in 2004, during the election? Secondly, didn't the MSM repeat the lefts position, relentlessly, just as they are now? Didn't Bush win the 2004 election despite the MSM onslaught, including Hollywood propaganda films such as Fahrenheit 911? What has changed now from 2004?

Let me just answer the last question. Nothing has changed since 2004. This is the issue that the left thought should win them the election, and IT DID SQUAT FOR THEM. But, if the MSM is soooo scary powerful, why weren't they able to turn the election for Kerry? Why are they forced, today, to have to cook their polls (oversampling dems by 6-10%) so that they get the results they want?

They always say that in every lie there is a kernel of truth. In the MSM's reporting, there are fewer, if any, kernels left. Tune into any MSM broadcast and you quickly realize that all you are seeing is liberals talking to liberals. The great liberal echo chamber in full effect. For example, with Fitzmas, the MSM created a reality that this was the "end" of the Bush administration (just as they created a reality on election day last year that Kerry was winning in a blowout). But come Monday, what does Bush do, he nominates Alito. The MSM has not stopped stammering since.

So let Reid tantrum. Let Matthews drool on himself. At the end of the day, they just look stupid and childish. They look like they are playing "make believe." Even worse, they look like they can't wait for bad things to happen to this country. What a way to get power back, "vote for us, things are bad!!" The voters get these things, they see these things. If they didn't, you would be bitching about President Kerry at this very moment.

I say, the more Matthews wants to cater to the far left, the more Reid wants to come undone, the better.
