Hillary: Libby's Leak Lie 'Reprehensible'
NewsMax.com ^ | Nov. 1, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is blasting former top White House aide Lewis Libby for allegedly lying to investigators, saying his decision to leak CIA employee Valerie Plame's name to the press was "simply reprehensible."

"Taking such action for political purposes is simply reprehensible and should never be tolerated," Clinton complains in a statement posted to her web site.

The former first lady, who had her own truth-telling problems in the Travelgate scandal, said Libby's attempts to "interfere with the investigation" by deceiving investigators "raises serious national security concerns."

"This administration owes our CIA agents around the world a promise that their identities will never be jeopardized," she railed. "And it owes the American people direct answers and responsible action."

In 2000, then-Independent Counsel Robert Ray issued his final report on the Travelgate probe, where he concluded: "The overwhelming evidence establishes that Mrs. Clinton played a role in the decision to fire the [travel office] employees and thus her statement to the contrary under oath to this office is factually false."

Do we really know who leaked the info on Plame yet? Is this another "deepthroat" like thing? And does Hillary still hold all the background files on political operatives?

Perhaps Hillary needs to be reminded of a few things;

Admission of error

One area where the Clintons seem to have admitted error is in taking gifts and furnishings from the White House when they left.

They have returned $28,000 worth of furnishings and said they would pay back $86,000 for gifts they received. They are reported to have received a total of $190,000 in gifts.

Mr Schier said taking the White House furnishings was seen as "tacky and indefensible" by the Washington establishment.

There was dispute over whether the items belonged to the White House or to the Clintons personally.

That scandal seems to have been resolved by the Clintons' offer to return disputed property.

Dean is mean, you can see it in his face at times. He lies and calls people names that are unfair.

Hillary was a thief, I posted why in another comment, but no republican would call her that.

In a statement answering questions from a House investigating committee, Hillary Clinton said "I don't recall" or its equivalent 50 times. Her statement was only 42 paragraphs long.

We've seen Hillary Clinton issue a 42 paragraph sworn statement to a House investigating committee investigating Clinton wrongdoings ... and in those 42 paragraphs we saw Hillary use the phrase "I don't recall" or its equivalent no less than 50 times.

We've seen Bill Clinton say "I don't recall" or its equivalent in portions of his testimony about Paula Jones 271 times.

And when it comes to failed memories, we've seen other Clinton administration friends and officials say the words "I don't recall" or its equivalent a total of 6,125 times before various investigating committees --- for a grand forgetfulness average of 235 times per person. In other words .... we've seen the most forgetful group of political operatives in the history of this country.
