We asked the question almost a month ago, now TIME magazine is on the story. TIME ran a story last week on the "Clinton Connection" to the new hit ABC TV show "Commander in Chief," which features Geena Davis playing the first women President. At the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, Clinton told us she doesn't watch the program. Over 16 million people do watch the show each Tuesday night.
According to TIME, Capricia Marshall is a consultant to the show. She was Clinton's social secretary, and one of the writers is Steven Cohen. He was once a communications aide to the former First Lady.
Some conservatives call the show nothing more than a campaign ad for Clinton.
After she brings peace to the Middle East, ends proverty, saves SS and outlaws conservatism what more plots can they run in the second half of the season?
Impeachment by evil republicans who frame her for lying about sex?
I call it The Left Wing.
I haven't seen the show, and won't...but my best guess is the connection is that bubba would like to "be" with Geena Davis.
When I watch TV, I want, more than anything, to escape from the hard day I've just had.
I have just recently been exposed as a 'South Park Republican', although I don't meet all the requirements. 8^)
As far as 'CiC'" I watched 15 minutes, and realized it was poorly written (I like West Wing), so I searched for the nearest hockey game.
Rice and Tancredo need to get a show. If I have anything to say about it they will be the next leaders of of the North American Union -- I mean United States.
Just a coincidence that they're both five syllables....I'm sure.
I think the show smells. The chimp that wrote it should have his banana ration cut off.
Why she'll become Miss America, of course!
Likewise, Hillary would be nowhere near the presidency without her connection to Bill.
This story, of how a free campaign commercial was created for HRC, with somebody else paying for it, is really quite amazing.
Why is it that the women on these tv shows never have a name like Linda or Susie? It's always Alex (Alexandra) or Mel (Melanie)!
Has anyone else ever noticed this????
Of course, I haven't watched network tv in years so maybe it's changed.
Damn .... Tuesday .... I can't watch on Tuesdays. That's the night I pound nails through my hands. Just damn!
Even better - time for conservatives to start demanding equal time on ABC. A show about a strong conservative man who does it right, and kicks terrorist behind. I'm nearly serious - make them show it, and make them pay for it (and let US write it...).
Or maybe just his banana....
McCain has a lot of pull with the FCC. No wonder he likes CFR so much.
Rush' analysis was dead on, and someone more able than me should post it.
You can have one episode where in 30 min the Fem Commander in Chief solves the war in Iraq problem, brings the troops home, while defeating the terrorists. Just like that, in 30 minutes.
Or how she debates a weak, same party opponent in the primary, e.g. a la Kerry, and crushes him in the debate, while winning a war at the same time.
The ways in which this so called show can, and will, help Hillary are immense, powerful and endless.
According to the latest Nielson ratings for Oct 16 - 23, the show was #9 and was watched by 11.8 million viewers. The 16 million appears to be wishful thinking. Remember too, that it was up against the MLB playoffs and the World Series, now it is up against a really good show (House on Fox).
Plus his strategy all along has been to get as much of a free ride from the media as possible. I suppose the answer is that all who can't win by the rules, McCain and libs, simply change the rules.
