Both parties have their share of criminals. And the common man is the every day working person, that was not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The ones that work every day and are bearly keeping ther heads above water. The ones that the goverment do not feel that they should make at least $6.35 on hour and they should be able to live on and support a family on $5.15 an hour when our gas prices are well over $2.50 a gal. The small business man, the small family farms, these are the people that built this country and made the Bush's and Clinton"s of this country their wealth. The men and wemen In Iraq fighting and loosing their lifes and there familys back have to live on food stamps to feed them selves. Men and wemen dieing for what? Not wepons of mass destruction, they are no closer to Bin Ladon they they were at 9/11. This country is back in billions of dollars in the red again. People are loosing their jobs right and left, so where is the good?

What to say to a liberal?

Smoke as many cigarettes a day as possible and drink gallons of hard liquor at every opportunity. Take up an outdoor sport like skydiving, bungee jumping, or free climbing sheer rock faces. Try to commune with polar bears, leopard seals and Great White Sharks in their natural habitats.

Hogwash. Unemployment is dropping dramatically. Except for Katrina, the economy is doing better now than when Clinton left office.

"I read on another thread here that you can earn $1300 per week in New Orleans right now doing grunt work."

A friend of mine is down there installing cable. He says people are getting $15/hr for directing traffic.

Before he heads to NOLA to look for a job, he might want to study English as a second language.

Heck I'm studying Spanish as a second language in case I have to move to Mexico.

What do you say to a liberal?

Some choices:

"what IS that smell?"

"That's the thickest mustache I've ever seen on a woman"

" you have the right to remain silent..."

"Mr. Clinton, please get your hands off My wife"

And finally..
"Senator Clinton, please get your hands off My wife"

Slainte,

"What would you say to this person?"

You tell them that if the Constitution is strictly interpretated, the minimum wage law is un-constitutional.

Next you tell them that as more and more strict constuctionists get appointed and confirmed into the federal judiciary, a tipping point will be reached and most of the regulatory law enacted in the 20th century will be declared un-constitutional.

At this point, "this person" will know what Hillary and the democrats mean when they say that the VRWC is trying to "roll back the New Deal/roll back the 20th century".

Khepera: Dependence on Government produces more dependence. For years we gave increased welfare payments to women who had babies out of wedlock. Multiple generations (one on top of another) were formed on the basis of these payments and the fathers were thrown out of the families so that the payments could go on.

This was a perfect example of liberal generosity: giving away money without purpose. It took over two decades to correct this gross error and I hope the public has learned that it is worse than fruitless to throw around money without clear purpose, because it often results in a destroying of society (the results of mis-intentioned welfare continues its malicious destruction on generations of minorities)than rather helping it.

We do not argue that money should not be given to the poor, but we argue that it should be used to eliminate the sources of poverty which is irresponsibility, ignorance of the consequences of immorality, and the indulgence of self and sensuality.

Wince. Ouch. The spelling. I would suggest working on communication skills to get a a better-than-minimum wage job.

The most misused word on Free Republic and elsewhere? In my opinion it is: Your. As you: Your welcome. Your correct. It is You're or You are; your is possessive.

Another? Loose. Don't loose your temper. The party is loosing its base.

Any other opinions?'

Its not up to the gub'mint to decide how much a person makes. Its up to the market to decide the value of their labor.
Family farms are frequently inefficient. They can't break even any more and are not entitled to taxpayer's money to survive.
The men an women in Iraq are fighting there, so that we don't have to fight the battle here. Everybody, especially American Muslims should be greatful for their valor and sacrifices.

People weren't supposed to make a 'career' out of McDonald's.

When I was 16 and worked at Hardee's, there was a lady there who was about 47 years old, made $5.75 an hour...and had worked at the same fast-food place for the same (adjusted for inflation) wage for 31 years. She wasn't a dumb person either, I just got the impression she never even tried to do any more than that. She wasn't married and lived at home with her 70-something year old father (who was in good health-so it wasn't like she was caring for him)...

I have used many of your points and suggestions in responding to this person. I will keep you all in the loop and see how this person responds to what I have sent. You all have been very helpful and I personally would like to destroy their arguments. Good job so far.

I read on another thread here that you can earn $1300 per week in New Orleans right now doing grunt work.

I had heard of this, and knew a couple of guys who were just about to hop on a bus and go there, but then word got out that something wasn't right about it, money promised but not delivered or something. You have a link to that thread?
