I've found 'Social Conservatives' to be a 'necessary evil' in the grand scheme of things. For the most part they wouldn't vote Republican if it weren't for the threats that Democrats pose to their religious beliefs. I find Dr. Dobson to be a terribly annoying, small individual but we politically arrive at the same place at the end of the day for very different reasons.

What makes social conservatives a necessary evil? The Republicans used to be proud to be a Pro-Life, Pro-Family party.
